Value does depend on production too though . Keep going with your narrative that Kapanen is worth more than Domi on the ice and in contract value. Don't you realize that Domi is a RFA and can be sent to arbitration? Arbitration would probably give him around $4M or $4.5M for one year while Kapanen makes $3.2M. Massive cap space man and even if Domi produces twice as much on the ice... Kapanen has more value.

Yeah, cool story bro. It's clear that Kapanen can't put up 50 pts playing all over the line-up like Domi did with the Habs with less talent.

So... where are people who were arguing that Poehling + 16th OA + Domi vs Gaudreau was an atrocity value-wise?

After seeing 15th OA + Hallander + peanuts returning Kapanen + peanut

Need-wise, I don't know if I pull the trigger on Gaudreau, but still value was there.

Sad that we did not trade Domi for that package

Thank you for reaching out. Way too many on HF boards devaluing Domi's potential to just 40-50 pts. Domi is worth more than that and it's shame how people are not willing to admit it. The minute Domi is traded, his new team will love him like the Coyotes and Habs have.

Domi has had shit luck playing with not so good talent. He has the potential to bust out in the right situation as a 2nd tier offensive forward.
