Not only did Mika throw down, he had a few solid checks throughout the game. Good to see him being more aggressive. Fox also threw a couple hits but i'd kinda rather he didn't.

Phoenix has some pretty good young players and some decent veterans. They're going to be an annoying team this season with a chance to be a pretty good team in the near future.

Please bring me up to speed on how KAM is a cornerstone. He's a turnover machine who can't defend. I really think he should be a forward playing forward, because right now he looks like a forward playing defense.

We played ok in the first period I guess. Overall it was pretty disjointed and lacking in tempo. But it's game 3 and we got the important points. Keep getting points while the players get up to speed with the season and the system and the team play should follow.

Bonino and Wheeler look well cooked.

They are on my f*** that list, right after Michelletti announcing tired penalty killers. I am in February style rage three games in. It's like the offseason never happened.

It’s also really nice how much more we have the puck so far, outside of the 4th line.

It’s never going to happen, but Goodrow should be one of the guys in the 12-13th forward spot not playing every game.

4th line and Bottom Pairing are bad enough to sink this team, but everything else looking pretty good. Vesey should be playing over at least four other forwards, and hopefully Othmann up by the deadline

4th line doesn't look very good as a "defensive line", at least with Bonino. He's an automatic turnover

This team really is built to play from ahead. Also, please take Goodrow out for Vesey already.

Also also if this is the Panarin we're going to get this season, we're in better shape than a lot of people thought.

down the line I think the play is to bring up Othmann and put him with Panarin. He can use a shooter that knows how to get open

I’d dress Bonino and not let him do anything other than PK and potentially take face offs towards the end of the game.

I’d like to see the 4th line without Goodrow though.

I can see Wheeler needing to "get up to speed". Was kind of disjointed game in general though

Laf seemed like he forced that one pass on a transition and then lost all confidence and never touched the puck again

I love a victory and won’t fault anyone for celebrating. But I can’t get too excited about this team’s future while our kids continue to tread water.

I just don’t see a path forward when we continue to rely entirely on guys like Panarin and Kreider. It’s not sustainable. Fox and Shesty are amazing, but it’s not enough.

Next game, two of Kakko, Laf and Chytil will get a point, there will be a bunch of “ThE KidS r aLrIGHt” posts and then we’ll all be happy for a night. Then they will all go three games without a point. Nothing has changed and it’s incredibly depressing.

I remember when the Rangers used to defend in their own zone in 3rd periods with a 1 goal lead. This was much better.
