Yah I just don’t think it worth it honestly. Not really a hole. The hole is 3 LD. Not a top 4 guy. Miller will only get better.

The funny part here is the same logic would apply there. The hole is 3C or a top 6 RW. I have no idea why this team is reportedly shopping for a 1C or a 1D when we are well covered at both spots.

After kreider/zib/panarin/strome there is a massive dropoff in goal scoring... I'd rather get some secondary scoring than trade prospects/assests for a defenseman

Miller is fine, but the coach doesn't even trust him to hold a lead late in games, and we are saddled with Nemeth. If you can get a proven top pairing defenseman who is slightly older and is very much signed to a below market contract I don't see why you wouldn't upgrade. I get we need forwards, but Chychrun would be here for a while it's not like he's a rental or a has just one more year on his deal.

you have Lindgren and Miller do we really need an upgrade there? Miller getting pushed down to play with Schneider seems like a very green pairing

I'm with you. Don't really see the need for upgrade. And it's likely he will cost us too much. And for a big guy, he doesn't hit much or block shots. Hell, Miller outhits him.

Somehow if we were dealing our young D on a down year we’d get fleeced and stuck with a middling prospect, 3rd liner, and a couple of 2nds. Arizona will get exactly what they requested of course.

Is it possible that our coach is the one that's wrong? And not that Miller is bad at holding leads? I'd understand if it were a steady but unspectacular guy he put in there, but it's Nemeth. Miller's better than Nemeth.

The simple route would be to add Jones and subtract Nemeth.... but loyalty and vet things.

I think this is happening after the trade deadline. Or thereabouts. Assuming the defense isn’t re-shuffled by a trade.
