The best leader on that team is Tanev. Doesn't matter who wears the letter he is the one that will lead by example and give everything every shift.

Hopefully yes, but hell be here next year, and giving 88 the A when hes still here would screw things over for team chemistry imo

I Wish we had a better core or at least a cheaper one so we didnt have to have guys like Matthews/marner/nylander/Jt/rielly wearing the letters

Maybe 1 of them can have a A, but we are missing 2-3 core leaders who are valuanle players that lead by example and dont make excuses for failure

None of them have been, but Nylander has been at least as good as any of them, with the possible exception of Rielly.

Personally I don't see them taking the C from JT, so it's moot.

There are no leadership changes. They're swapping letters. There's no reason for Marner to lose his.

You don’t pull a letter from the teams most popular player. The letters will remain with the same players, Tavares will just go back to an A.

Nylander is too immature and selfish to be given a letter.

1 of 4 things is going to happen, keeping in mind 3 letters maximum (the C and 2 As, or 3 As) can be dressed each game:

1) Tavares gives up his letter completely, and Marner+Rielly wear the As
2) Marner is stripped of his A, and Tavares+Rielly wear the As
3) 1 of Rielly/Tavares becomes the guy who rotates his A with Marner instead of Matthews, and no one who had a letter last year loses it
4) They increase the number of alternates to 4, giving the team 2 home As and 2 road As like many other teams around the league do.

Points the fingers at his teammates. Instead of demanding more from the man in the mirror. This is on top of waging his own personal war with anyone not in his inner circle.

Stripping Marner of his "A" should be the very next step. Make it clear to this loser he's not wanted here anymore. He can be a crybaby about it and try to hold the team hostage by refusing to waive



He won't be getting another contract from the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The only thing Marner led was the charge to the bank anyway. His guerilla negotiation tactics made clear he worships at the altar of mammon. Now he can lead the charge out the door.

Take Tavares, Treliving, and Shanahan with him too.
