Does Leo Carlsson HIT 60 Points this Season

I don't accept your premise that Michkov was never an option. Is there proof he didn't want Anaheim? Even so, if you adjudge him to be the best player by a margin (maybe so or maybe not, time will tell), why is it such a sure thing that you don't pick him? You can trade him or you can convince him. Doesn't seem like such a bad situation to be in.

To me that's all irrelevant. I expect Carlsson to top out as more valuable than Michkov.

Not proof, but the fact that he slipped past a bunch of teams that could have used him suggests the rumors of him telling several teams he wasn't interested, probably had some truth to it.

At 4 or 5 I take the chance, but not at 2 or 3 with Carlsson/Fantilli available. If you pass on two 1c prospects for a guy who might not play for you after the historically bad season they had ... IMO that's a fireable offense for the GM to come away empty handed.

At 2 & 3 I doubt it mattered if Michkov was from Perm or Peterborough, NHL clubs weren't going to pass on 1C prospects for a diminutive winger who had a lot of issues in his draft season.

very little chance of that happening

Wingers like Mitchkov hitting their ceilings are just considerably better and more valuable players than 2-way center like Carlsson hitting their ceilings

Kane, Kucherov, OV type ceiling winger >>>.Toews, Kopitar, Barkov type ceiling center

Mitchkov will need to disapoint for him not to be the 2nd best(possibly best if bedard disapoints himself) player from 2023

I'd take Barkov or Kopitar over those three wingers in a best of 7 all day long.

He's still working out the kinks but one thing is for sure, now that he's worked out the one issue holding back his skating (his first 3-4 steps/acceleration) he looks really fast for a guy his height.

If he can fill out his frame without sacrificing too much skating speed, he's going to be such a tough player to stop.

You woke up Leo the lion

He did also have 5 points in 3 preseason games so I knew the points would come but the issue is the PP, if the Ducks cannot get a decent PP going everyone on that team will barely even hit 60 points. The skill is there but the execution is not.

The McDavid’s and Panarin’s of the league strive on the PP, take that away and their production is like 25-30% less.

I also think it’s bad luck the PP, he hit the post on that 5 on 3, goalie was beat.

No as preseason isn’t a sign of much, but the kid has potential and I don’t think 60 is a reach if healthy

Ya idk what his absolute ceiling is, but 60- 70 this year would make duck fans happy. I think with a half way decent powerplay he hits that easily.

Unfortunately our powerplay looks like it may go 0% for the season, and I wish I was joking

I don’t get it to be honest. Yes they aren’t a top 5 on 5, but they should have an average pp

Electric. Who was that who passed it? Nice effort on the tap pass.

Terry. Made a great play to stop the clear attempt.

Part of it might be that those guys really haven't played together very much. Last year with all the injuries, their best young players (Carlsson, Zegras, McTavish, Mintyukov) were all on the ice together for less than a dozen games. So on top of still learning the NHL ropes and developing their games, they haven't had a lot of chances to build much chemistry either.

There's a lot of promise there, but it's still gonna take time. A bunch of their guys still can't even buy alcohol yet.
