I don't know, if I was in the room with my direct manager and his boss the division head, I definitely wouldn't say things the same way about my manager as I might if I was talking without him there. I mean, it's more just a matter of being polite about it? I don't have a $40M contract or a Stanley Cup ring, mind you, but I feel like even if I did, I would definitely hold back from criticizing a guy to his face
with his boss present.
Trotz should definitely listen to them either way. But I just can't see these guys slagging Brunette quite the same way with him in the room as they would if he wasn't in the room. OR, if they did come up with criticisms with Brunette in the room, it would give Brunette ways of pretending that he'd constructively deal with those criticisms next season - hm, yes, good point Stammer, we'll try a different PP arrangement, thanks - which may or may not be BS, but it would probably give Trotz an easier out in terms of keeping Brunette if he was allowed the opportunity to immediately spin and deflect and promise to address anything the players bring up.
Anyway, who cares really, I'm fully expecting Brunette back, so whatever they do or say probably doesn't really matter.
