Does anyone find it boring with the same result as last year?

It wasn't a bad Final at all, two good teams going 7 games and all...but having the same matchup always seems kind of meh. We waited an entire year to watch the same series again. 50% chance the same team wins again. Variety makes things more interesting.
For this year's playoffs, honestly having Carolina or Dallas in finals would have been very boring and if both were in finals then am not sure I would be too interested to watch it compared to Oilers vs. Panthers round 2. I mean there is so many storylines behind this series that it makes it very entertaining to watch and both teams have agitators and rats 😂

Its not boring because of the same teams. Its boring because the DoPS is so ass and let's assholes get away with elbowing other players heads left and right.

It'd be fun to watch league where the rules are consistent and there's some semblance of external discipline for reckless plays.
Did Bennett elbow the entire core four, defense and bottom six in the head because that was a team effort series loss.

I'd cut you a bit more slack if Will hadn't won as many games as Stolarz, plus you can't just assume things would have been different since both goalies were on the same level.

Now as a nucks fan we got screwed last year going from Demko to Silovs yet we took them to game seven and my team didn't get blown out at home in game seven.

I read these type of posts and I instantly know who played organized sports at a high level and who didn't. Athletes know that an injury isn't an excuse you guys were up two zip and won one of the next five including two of some of the most pathetic playoff home games in recent memory.
I mean I hate the oilers with a passion, they took down the knights with ease and are up 3-1 against Dallas, with A skinner- Pickard duo, a Dcorp full of bottom pairing guys and a couple of #4's while missing their best Dman. In fact I'll go as far as saying the oilers are a lottery team without McDrai yet shocker, there best players show up, what a concept.

Naw I'm all for it. Edmonton and Florida are the most exciting teams to watch. Stanley Cup final rematch which includes the best player in hockey looking to get revenge! Just like Crosby & pens vs Detroit - that rematch was wicked.

Would you rather have seen Carolina vs Dallas?? Puke

Oh god no, I wouldn't watch that, no offense to Canes or Stars fans but their teams are pretty boring and don't have those character players that are present in Panthers and Oilers roster.

Honestly people will find anything to complain about when in reality any team not named Vancouver makes me hate who's in the finals.

Full credit to the Panthers who are building a dynasty and if the oilers get in despite my hatred for them and their loser fans, it's impressive considering how shit their roster is aside from McDrai.

Both teams literally beat at least two teams with better records, in the oilers case all three were better record wise and I respect that even if a big part of me believes the kings, knights and stars have all played like shit and the Panthers will absolutely steam roll them, unless they self implode or the entire team plays like shit like the knights and stars have done.

The Canes weren’t in the final 4 last year.

The Stars also aren’t done.

And if Edmonton does advance, a Panthers/Oilers rematch is one of the most exciting matchups you could see imo. The two teams attack better than anyone else in the league and both teams have a good mix of toughness/pricks that there should be a lot of emotion. Especially considering they played against each other last year.

Am not worried about Florida playing like crap against the Oilers, Paul Maurice has them under control. They are a different beast compared to knights or Stars. Oilers will finally meet the final boss and it will be intriguing to see how it goes. But I really believe Florida got this in the bag.

Let’s be real there’s nothing “boring” about DOPS decisions one way or another, this is just your way of shoehorning your gripes about the Panthers into this thread

No way you think a rematch between the Oilers and the Panthers is boring for real... hell naaaaaaaaah.

I thought there was supposed to by parity in the NHL. Yet we had the exact same final 4 matchups as last year. And now we have the same cup finals matchup as last year as well.

Are the Panthers and Oilers just THAT much better than everyone else? It just seems like you can skip the playoffs and wait for the finals. There aren't any upsets any more.

I don't know, it just seems boring to me. I would have liked to see some new teams do well. But it seems parity is gone.

Not entirely true, the Leafs did make it out of round one

No.

Parity is good but I also think it’s good when there’s a “team to beat” and a team to strive to emulate. It forces other teams to be more aggressive and figure out ways to beat Florida or even Edmonton. It adds some drama to see who the next team will be to dethrone the current dynasty.

My opinion, anyway.

Parity isn’t really gone. Leafs were a game away from eliminating Florida for example, and Kings blundered a challenge that really killed them. It’s a game of small margins in the playoffs and things could have easily gone another way.
