Awesome isn't it. Expiring contract and the Lakers will be giving away first round draft picks for two more years for him.

I rather let Steve Nash walk away or trade him for draft picks, so that a young core would be able to flourish. Besides, in hindsight, I did not see Dwight Howard, walking away. :shakehead

I had a feeling that was a bad trade from the start, but I had no idea how bad it would end up turning out for the Lakers especially going into a full rebuild two years later

Meanwhile, the JailBlazers eliminated the Rockets on the 1st round, while Dwight Howard is going to be Houston's answer to Patrick Ewing. :shakehead:nod:

If I'm correct, I easily see this as the Lakers' starting 5:

SG: Kobe
PG: Clarkson
C: Sacre
PF: Julius Randle
SF: Nick Young

Meanwhile, as per ESPN ticker, Bucks claimed Kendall Marshall claimed off waivers.

Another ****-up by Mitch and Jim. Should have seen this coming a mile away, the Bucks need to build from ground up, and picking up Marshall from waivers was a no-brainer for them.

The fact that they have taken so long to name Scott as a coach has caused me to lose a lot of faith on how Mitch and Jim are managing this team.

Marshall needs a very specific system to do well. The guy plays worse than no defense and can't shoot, not athletic and is slow. He only looked decent last year due to D'antoni's offense, sure he racked up assists as they lost games 130-110.

He will be waived by the Bucks and go overseas maybe. He looked awful in the summer league will not miss him one bit.

I've read that lakers were hoping that Kendall would clear waivers and re-sign him to a more cap-friendly contract. Does anyone know how much he makes? I'm thinking, not a whole lot.

With or without Kendall, I'm actually looking forward to seeing the lakers play for once. All the new acquisitions plus picks of Randle and even Clarkson.

At least they're not Phil Jackson, who brought in Kwame Brown into the team. :amazed::naughty:

Also, I will not find it hard to believe if Mitch and Jim are bringing in players that fit into Byron Scott's system, especially when it's all but guaranteed he's gonna get the LA Lakers head coach gig.

Nick Young will flourish as a sharpshooter, under Byron Scott's system.

He was at around $700k. The Lakers always say things like that when they waive a player, I just see it as doing the player and his agent right by not spelling out negatives. In this case they are still juggling some cap holds so its possible had he cleared waivers they may have invited him to camp. I like Deandre Kane as a better option than Marshall I bet he gets a camp invite.

Assuming Nash is still on the team come opening day (still lots of rumors flying around about him) here is how I see their roster:

PG Nash\Lin\Clarkson (if healthy I could see Nash starting just so he doesn't get cold sitting, but Lin playing more minutes)
SG Kobe\Young\Clarkson
SF Johnson\Young\ Kelly (possibly Randle sees time here too he seems to handle the ball a lot for PF)
PF Boozer\Randle\Kelly
C Davis\Hill\Boozer (I could also see Boozer getting starts at center against smaller teams, he played that on team USA)

Im not sure where Kelly fits in, he looked like a nice project stretch 4 last year but now they are loaded at the PF spot. Hill may be getting paid 9 million but thee guy has not shown the ablilty to stay healthy when given starters minutes, doubt he makes it past the trading deadline next winter honestly.

So, if Bradford gets off to another sub par season, which free agents are available for signing?

I am not sure what the Rams will do, they pretty much have bet the farm on Bradford.

They are not going to be bad enough for another top Five pick the next few years.

The Defense alone is good enough to keep the Rams 7-9 for the next Three years.

They needed to land a Bridgewater/Bortles as insurance and they didn't.

Bridgewater would have been a steal, but o well.

I guess I wasn't very clear in my original post. What I meant to say was, are there any free agents available now that we can sign as Bradford's backup, just in case he struggles? I'd hate to throw away another season.

So the NBA will continue the sleeved jersey crap into next season.

Those remind me too much of soccer jerseys, and this is coming from a lifelong basketball fan. :shakehead

Meanwhile, former Showtime Laker Michael Cooper has cancer.

On a lighter note, R(yan) Kelly and Nick Young are coming back to the Lakers.

What's the word on Kobe and Nash both returning for this season? Is it a sure thing?

I sincerely hope Nash would just retire or jump into coaching/training. He no longer has is speed like in his Suns days, while as for Kobe, looks like he'll end up learning Jerry West's pains about losing at the very most this upcoming 2014-15 NBA season.

I would have to say no. The Free Agent QB market this season and next looks pretty bleak.

Bradford has the fourth highest cap hit in football which means they can replace him with basically anyone and wait for a QB to develop.
