IF you are a teen of the 80's you can name all these bands and tell stories maybe not raunchy as the band, but some outrages ones.

While it leaves a lot out--it was refreshing that unlike a "certain band" most of the bands in the doc are brutally honest of what they got up to, do not hide it, are sort of proud of it and do not defend their actions by saying "oh it was just the times"

Thanks. This is a must-watch for me. Apparently, it's based on a book which was based on 200 interviews, so there's probably a lot more than made it into this docuseries.

The one problem I have it only talks about 2 guys who went to an early grave while there was a far higher body count who bit the dust.
yeah i get it. the vince neil/hanoi rocks guy immediately comes to mind. that asshole got off real easy on that one.

but i'm more interested in the stories i never heard of. like 2 members of crue biting eddie van halen because they like him. da phuck?

I will get around to watching this at some point. I love the scene. Although I know so much about it I wonder how much new information there will be for me. Other documentaries for his era haven't really told me anything I didn't know. Although the flashbacks and videos are always cool to see.

I got a kick out of someone saying Motley Crue "was all about the music". They were a hair band from day one.

Their original guitarist (who played in pre-fame versions of Crue, Dokken and Quiet Riot) is an amp tech in LA. Depending on who you believe, he left the band because either he wouldn't play someone who couldn't play bass (Nikki Sixx), or he just "didn't look the part".
