2 snipes from Dach, 2 apples for Newhook and a SO W from our back up
They also have to win the game so they'll not be full or beer and turkeyTampa will be a different animal, so many weapons. Should be fun
MSL making some strides also........the doling out of TOI is a huge thing and it's on the coach.A. Carrier 4 hits , +1 , 19:39 TOI
K. Guhle , 1A , +3, 4 BS, 21:29 TOI
L. Hutson , +2 , 2 BS , 19:07 TOI
M. Matheson , +2 , 4 shots, 2 BS, 22:33 TOI
D. Savard, 2 BS , 19:12 TOI
A. Xhekaj, 3 BS, 1 Fight, 4 Hits, 16:07 TOI
Finally, something that like 'looks' better than bottom5 Defense
Not overplaying Matheson by 6 minutes
Lane Hutson PP1 time 1:30, Matheson PP time 0:30
Guhle thriving at LD finally, dream partner in Carrier, 2nd pairing that can easily crunch 20 mins
Xhekaj going from 10 mins and struggling to 16 and SHINING, his improved play is a small reason the team has looked much better recently as well
Were not there yet, and need to see where Reinbacher fits (Replaces expiring Savard), and who else they get at RD after you trade Matheson
But finally were not DYING out there on defense god
(Also not to pour it on too much on poor Preems, but he alone cost us like 3-4 games.. that's 6-8 POINTS in the standings ffs!, we had to make a change so TY Kent)
Indeed…..nothing like shutting out the World Champs in their backyard with a goalie playing his first game. What a game by the boys!!
But….we have to have someone dropping the gloves when a team is getting too liberal with their bodies. I’d love to have Deslauriers back in Montreal. The perfect 4th liner and he is relentless with the fists….and boy he can sure take a punch.Agreed. Was worried a bit with X at the start of the year but he's been a pillar in our recent resurgence. As long as he plays physical and defense and sometimes uses his hard shot (without killing possession) he will have a long NHL career. With Hutson and Engstrom doing great in Laval he won't need to be a puck carrier in his prime.
Or at least one point….Yah they should have won that game
If he had some leniency from the press, it’s fading. The “Tabarnouche” (translated perhaps by “Fudge?) is not quite “Tabarnak” (f***?) but shows an inkling of fight. I think he knows the honeymoon’s over and he needs to get his shit together.
Matheson needs to go. Savard? Not so much.Savard and Matheson need to go.
It's one game. Hopefully, he settles in nicely. I think there will be peaks and valleys.
it's also on the roster. no coincidence that he suddenly figures out ice time delegation with Carrier coming in.MSL making some strides also........the doling out of TOI is a huge thing and it's on the coach.
Good job, today Marty
Jeff GortonWho had predicted the Habs would be tied with the Rangers after Christmas?
is Armia ... a good player? ..Armia is +9 in his last 5 games, it's crazy.
Greer wanted to get Dobes off his game. It had to be dealt with on the spot, IMHO. Dobes can easily get rattled and go ballistic as we saw him do many times in Laval. Nipping it in bud enables all parties to move on.I know exactly what he was doing but you can send a message without dropping them you tell the f***er I'll get you when I'm fresh.
In the right chair he is damn good.is Armia ... a good player? ..
And at the right AAV and term.In the right chair he is damn good.
I think having Laine on the team with him has ignited himAnd at the right AAV and term.
Can’t give that guy too long a contract, he gets complacent.
Small sample size. He’s more the guy he’s been over many seasons with the Habs than the short term guy on a Finnish broski kick.I think having Laine on the team with him has ignited him
One thing is for sure he is playing the best hockey of his Habs career, perhaps it's the Laine effect or it's a contract yearSmall sample size. He’s more the guy he’s been over many seasons with the Habs than the short term guy on a Finnish broski kick.
Maybe re-assess at the end of the season.
Somewhat true, but the Columbus game, wasn't Matheson overplayed? With AC in the lineup?it's also on the roster. no coincidence that he suddenly figures out ice time delegation with Carrier coming in.
He was also playing at his best last season but he had to be waived a few times for it to happen. One thing is for sure he is playing the best hockey of his Habs career, perhaps it's the Laine effect or it's a contract year
