Sure, because he's still in his prime. There's guys who have put up substantially better 5v5 scoring rates in their primes.

Because of setup of playoff format- one team from division was guaranteed final 4. Many thought Montreal got luck plus exceptional goaltending to get fluke win and get into final.

And all though 100% voters vote for him because he head and shoulders above in that season's circumstances, but when you compare that MVP year to other MVP years, it is clear to see that only 56 games and only played 6 middling to bad teams.

McDavid might not dominate his competition in the same way as others before him, but he'll likely stay near the top for longer. McDavid has 10 straight seasons with over 90 points. The record is Gretzky with 13 straight seasons. Can't really see McDavid not going for 14 straight 90+ point seasons unless he misses over 25 games in one of the next 4 seasons. Could even see McDavid break Gretzky's overall record for 90 point seasons as well, since Gretzky only put up 17 seasons with 90 points or more...
