Do you think any NHL players, coaches and/or GMs are here reading/posting hfboards.

I wouldn't be able to help it, especially with all the time spent traveling. You're flying somewhere for the millionth time, you're not gonna go on the internet on your iPad? Even if it's just for the laughs, like "Hey Hank, look how clueless this JohnC user is!:biglaugh:" :sarcasm:.

There's little doubt in my mind that this conversation actually took place.

When 10,000 users/fans post Boyle suck it can definitely get in to your head and affect your performance. Don't you think so?

I they don't read it, it's something they just deceided not to, in order to keep their head straight. If a bunch of people wrote 22 pages om what the HELL is wrong with me, I wouldn't ignore it of lack of interest. Journalists not reading this for angels would be pretty stupid too, as you have 123 k hockeyfreaks screening all sources on anything even remotely related to what they are supposed to write about. From prospects to meat loaf recepies.

Bernmeister is Sather's id

:handclap::handclap::laugh::laugh::laugh::yo::yo:

No. But thanks, I think.

If I wuz Sather, AV would be told not to waste Kreider and Miller w/Pyatt, etc. Like at day 2.

----------

I do think that slowly but surely, when people like RangerBoy and I are saying

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PLS PLAY MILLER SERIOUS MINUTES AT C!
IMMEDIATELY!!

and are ultimately proven right, they listen.

Next will be pairing Kreider specifically w/Miller at 2C which I've been calling for a while.

They looked very good last game vs. Toronto, the bang-bang goal for JT!!!!

I feel like Twitter's become so much of a "thing" lately that if someone in those circles wants the raw vox populi "trade the guy who has been bad for two weeks," it's right there where a lot of them already have accounts. Just punch your name in after you have a bad game (or even an okay game that the team loses) and all the 13-year-olds are crapping on you. The big blogs/MSM give the accepted "legit" take on things and HF occupies the space in between.

For me HF's the most interesting of the three and the only one I spend any non-negligible amount of time on, but I can imagine it might be less of a "big deal" than it once was.

There was a time when players would check it out, but I never heard of a coach or GM looking around.

I would agree with earlier posts, with FB and Twitter and other social media outlets, message boards aren't quite the "in" thing they once were. It's not to say they are going away any time soon, but I don't think they are quite the force they used to be.

I would think that this board is well known within all parts of the NHL. I would also assume that coaches and GMs don't really want players to spend time here. It might really **** with some players heads.

My guess is that it's sort of like in the WWE locker room with Wrestling Observer. It's not really something you should do, but the guys still is well aware of it, and some even follow it fairly close.

I have some experience in this. For a few years not that long ago, I was in the news on a regular basis. Those of you from New York must've seen me on TV or in newspapers and I would bet a decent number would still recognize my name.

For the first half a year, I read every word about myself religiously. Every article, every comment under it, you name it. After a while, it starts to get to you. You also return to your normal lifestyle and suddenly realize you are too busy for this crap. You do check on it every now and again, but it's only the first few months of fame that you obsess about it.

As far as effecting a player's performance, I doubt it. Comments, both positive and negative, never made me act differently. Maybe you adjust a little about your presentation, but mostly you just forget what people wrote as soon as you are done reading it.

They let Bernie Madoff post from prison?:sarcasm:

I know some NHL players look at this site.

And also, consider the following: how many of you younger posters registered at 14, 15, 16, 17 years old. You're a big hockey fan, maybe you play too. 3-4 years later you're being drafted. 2-3 years later you're being called up. You didn't stop being a hockey fan and the things you do and sites you habitually visit in your downtime didn't change. You may read less. You certainly are instructed not to post (though I know for a fact that isn't always obeyed) at these kinds of communities. But yes, NHL players look at and know all about HF.

Sometimes I think smartass posts are players trolling us. Also I swear to go Sather posts.
