Do you think any NHL players, coaches and/or GMs are here reading/posting hfboards.

Human nature tells me they must. I really believe that especialy young NHL players not only read, but also post in here. I doubt they would take advise from any of HF posters. It's kind of laughable to think they get suggestions or knowledge off here though.

I would definitely think some players read the boards. Wasn't there a picture of Dubi reading them floating around?

I always thought that one was a confirmed photoshop? Could be wrong.

I think Patrick Burke in his AMA on Reddit said that sometimes they browse the trade rumor section for a good laugh

I'll see if I can find it...

Just kidding, it was on Twitter...

@MJanusz11 Sometimes at bars we read the Trade and Rumor sections just to laugh. Seriously.

Oh trust me, they do. I have a friend who used to play NHL-hockey who would read every word written about him and this is probably the rule rather than the exception for most of the guys.
Just imagine yourself being in this position. Most of us definitely fall for the temptation :)

Doubt many of them post much though. Very embarrassing if you get caught praising yourself.

They definitely do. I doubt guys like Sather and Gorton are on here but there are media personnel at the Garden who read these forums.

I think it's pretty safe to say that Larry Brooks reads this forum. Some of the stuff we say or suggest regarding the team seem to end up as his POV in some of his articles. Could be a coincidence, though.

Once again I say of course they do.. If they know how to use the internet to a certain extent. Care enough about the rangers (or any other team) to wonder what the fans think and have free time on their hands they will at the very least check out what the slightly more fanatic fanbase is saying.

As for AV, Arniel and even veteran players, I reckon they are probably not here too often unless they had a press conference where they are curious how it was received, or something major has happened. Young guys like Kreider, Miller, Zucc, Brass, Talbot and such.. Sure they are on here reading up.

Same goes for media. It is their job to find out how the fanbase receives and interprets things

Its rather obvious that many do. Its ego stimulation. (Thats not a bad thing if you're a decent guy)

It's probably safe to say that whatever is written on here is brought to the attention of players, coaches, GM's, etc. if they don't read these message boards themselves. I suspect at least some of them do, but they would never admit it.

I suspect Boyle reads it. For media and franchise staff /GMs it must be the quickest way to get news, or at least rumours? (Especially those that cannot be verified:)

Anything is possible. They get free time like any other person and i'm sure they might browse once or twice

Players and media personalities absolutely read the boards. As do family members of players. That's a pretty regular occurrence here. I don't know about GMs or coaches. I don't remember any specific incidences of either of those.

Lots of people around junior hockey and minor pro are around here. We have some active posters and mods that played junior hockey or Division I college. One of our guys here on this board was an NHL draft pick! We have a former scout or two here as well. I used to know some guys with the NHLPA, but that's kind of boring.

i wouldn't be surprised if big-market teams hire people to browse blogs/forums/social media for consumer feedback of their assets.

List of users so I can PM them for jobs?

Thanks in advance ;)

If media personnel do read these forums how come they never ever mention anything about it.

1. They don't cover HFboards.

2. They want people to consume what they have to say, not someone else.

The closest thing you'll see to a plug is a blog link on their respective blogs, or a tweet giving cred to someone, and that's only within the inner circle.

I think Hank reads it. He's the one accusing me of signing up for the sole purpose of bashing him.
