Excellent tournament with many potential winners, the way it is supposed to be IMO.

This is why if they do WJC in countries, they need to be in the big cities.

Great tourney and Great GMG!

For me, the tournament was closer to being "excellent" rather than just "good".

I will definitely remember the gold medal game. That third period was just awesome.

Tournament was pretty good on sight. I didnt get to catch lot of games in tv cause of work, but I was at Hartwall for 3 different days including Finals. Between games show was very very meh. The games itself was ofcourse amazing being a finn. Ive never experienced anything like that in a sport event. That moment when we finns were silent and crushed with Russian scoring and Canadien fans started to chant: "Let go Finland!" and rest of the spectators joining em was just mindblowing! Gotta love em gool ol canadien fans!

So im very pleased. Night to remeber!

Canada was obviously disappointing, but that didn't take away from the tournament itself.

As a die hard Canadian fan, sure it's disappointing, but it needs to be recognized that even the way they lost was spectacularly entertaining. I just can't get enough of this tournament, and now that the parity is starting to become more noticeable, it's just getting better and better. I'm glad to see that over the last few years Sweden and Finland are both catching WJC fever as well.

I just started watching the tourney a few years ago and this was really fun.

Obviously being a fan of USA hockey I was upset about another loss to Russia but beating up Sweden was a lot of fun.

Great hockey. Cool pics of what looks like a fantastic country. Bronze for the US. Pretty darn good.

I'm already stoked about going to Buffalo in 2 years for my first in person tourney. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

Absolutely, 5 different countries could be considered for Gold in any given year, add another 2 that have a chance with an unexpected upset. Maybe add another one with a miracle tournament. Can't think of another sport other than soccer where so many different countries have a shot at winning it all.

Hockey-wise, it was pretty solid. I thought it started off kind of slow, but as the tournament went on, I enjoyed it more-and-more. The best games for me were Canada/Finland and Finland/Russia; the most intensity and really kept you guessing. I managed to see seven full games (Can x3, Fin/Slov, QF/SF/F), and parts of three others (Cze/Blr, Rus/Den, USA/Swe). There wasn't really a game I didn't like, though the Canadian games were stressful at times.

Off the ice, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The fans were incredible, even non-Canadian ones. The Finnish fans would always welcome me to the games when I had my Canadian jersey on. While there was a lot of between-team rival going on, there wasn't any real hatred, which was neat. Actually, I think the most upset anyone got at us was another Canadian because we weren't cheering loud enough during the Sweden game

The staff at both rinks were great; explained everything you weren't sure of. There were some mild language barriers, but nothing that couldn't be over-come.

I stayed away from downtown in terms of accommodation and it was a great choice. The hotel staff was A+, as were everyone I talked to nearby at stores/restaurants. Heck, I went to one restaurant enough that, when I told them I was leaving two days later, they gave me a free side dish and drink. I won't name them, as I don't know if that's legal on this board, but it was certainly hugely appreciated. I already miss their burgers

The only negative aspect to the entire trip was the tourists who didn't seem to have great manners. They were very "I'm here, you'll move", which isn't something I'm used to. Had numerous people push me aside to get what they wanted. Oh well...you live with it. Not like I was ever really in a rush.

Loved the city, loved the people, loved the hockey. I would have loved to have seen Canada win it all, but having the Finns win was a very nice 1B. Being second row behind the net were the GWG goal was scored...beauty! Looking forward to going back down the road.

Great tournament and i liked a lot of these games.
I don't never forget that Peltonen Koivu Lehtinen jersey retiring ceremony.

It was very emotional moment and i'm happy that i was in Hartwall Arena watching it.
Also the new years eve game against Czechs was great.
Atmosphere in Hartwall Arena in that game was awesome.

Only negative feedback goes to Finnish Elite League.
Why the hell those idiots in FEL played regular season games same time with world juniors.

There's nothing idiotic than play some hobby series games in Finnish League.
Same time when most of the Finnish hockey fans are watching Finland's top juniors playing their age-groups world championship title in our home ice.

Loved it. Couldn't be any better. Home team winning naturally gives a couple extra points :)

If only these organizers can run the event in Canada. The empty seats next year will be fun.
You don't remember last year's tournament? Toronto was a full building every game. I don't get the big talk about WJC in Europe, it's a different, cool experience but Canadian World Juniors will never be quiet and empty. Some of the boring games in Europe go empty but the empty games in Canada are still attended to quite well.

I don't really understand where you are coming from or what you're basing your post off of.

The tournament was good. However in my opinion WJC in Canada and the US looks better on TV. The rinks in NA are smaller and game looks faster and more entertaining. Also arenas in NA have more light which is very good for TV HD picture. The Hartwall arena is pretty dark. It's like another KHL game in dark arena which is tough to watch.

Wish Canada would have done better but the tournament overall was good, that gold medal game was fantastic.

Maybe it was the TV cameras because I found Hartwall, in person, to be very bright. It was a pretty solid eye-opener, at least compared to Helsinki Ice Hall, which was much darker.

Denmark vs Russia
Canada vs Finland
Finland vs Russia in the finals.

All classics. Great tournament. Canada was just not very good this year though. Oh well no McDavid, Bennett, Ekblad, Fabbri or McCann.

McDonald's?

Roaming between the semifinal games inside the arena halls with ten thousand others (when the seating area was cleared and doors closed) may not have been the greatest experience.
