If only these organizers can run the event in Canada. The empty seats next year will be fun.

What?

The Calgary- and Edmonton-hosted tournament set the tournament attendance record by attracting 571,539 fans through the turnstiles of the Saddledome and Rexall Place over the 11-day event — an average of 18,437 per game.

The previous record was also set in Canada. Ottawa drew 453,282 fans during the 2009 championship, an average of 14,622 per day.

We had a great time. Helsinki is beautiful and the Finnish people and fans are wonderful. Watching the Finns win was almost as exciting as watching Canada win.

I think that was a jab at the organizers of last year's tournament. High ticket prices and empty seats, especially in Montreal.

Olet oikeassa taas!

Get use to lots of this next year! How embarassing will it be if Canada doesn't make the final to have empty seats for the Gold Medal game, I can really see that happening here.

Montreal is a completely different market from the rest of Canada, it might sell elsewhere but not here for a kid's tournament are people paying nhl prices.

It's pretty clear that while Montreal adores the Habs, it's not really a hockey city.

I'm guessing people are just logical, why would pay nhl prices for a junior tournament.

If this is the Canadian Olympic Team, for sure, but to watch a bunch of kids, why not spend that cash on Christmas time shopping.

At least sell individual game tickets, you'll get more people, no one in their frame of mind will buy a whole tournament of half tourney package.

I enjoyed it. Canada's performance was disappointing to say the least but it what it is.

The highlight for me was the play of all the draft eligible players, particularly the Finns. It was also nice to see the Finnish team win in front of their home crowd.
