Hamonic will be brought in before Yakemchuk….what a ridiculous suggestion, imo

The guy couldn't even improve upon his draft year, and wasn't a force in the WHL playoffs either

Why would we subject him to this crap.

Fire him in for the storyline, he certainly isn’t an NHLer at this point, but they’re down 3-0

If they feel like Alfredsson in the “probably not” way, fire him in.

He’s got cinder blocks on his feet, if he’s forced to pivot they’re getting a scoring chance

Look at it like we have one game to play on an island and have Matinpalo/Hamonic/Yakemchuk available. Consider the team can’t score and needs a potential game breaker.

Who are you putting in?

Yeah for fun I’m putting yakemchuk. He single handedly won us preseason games (against Toronto too).
Yea preseason but it was real hockey and he excelled against nhlers.

He’d only have to play about 12 mins.

I don't mind it, give him a taste of what it takes at the highest level, maybe we get some magic like when Stone suited up for his first game.

At this point, it's less about trying to win the series, and more about long term benefit, so I can see it as a positive. Certainly could help our struggling PP,

Go down with the guys who brought you there, which is why I think Hamonic gets in.

I know Leevi helped, but that would just create a controversy all summer. Not what we need.
Someone has a skeleton in their closet. LOL.

That wouldn’t be much of a difference than when Matinpalo is out there, but maybe Yakemchuk would be able to make an outlet passing instead of firing it down for an icing?

The reality is we've been alright 5v5, might even say we've carried the play.

Goaltending aside, our issues are PK and PP, Matinpalo doesn't play either, Yakemchuk would look good on the PP. You've got nothing to lose putting him in, and he could gain some insight in how much work he needs to put in to compete at the highest level.

Might also give the fans something to get excited about, especially if he has a good game. Not much of a downside to putting him in,

Yakemchuk still needs a lot of development and some good coaching.

No point creating a side show at this time.

Sens mindset has to be they are down but not out.. They took the last two to OT . Its not like they are getting blown out.

Yakemchuk is in no way ready to be a savior in the NHL playoffs. He still has to figure out who is is going to be as an NHL defenseman.

There is no way in hell the Sens are throwing him in now.

They threw in Stone at 19 yrs old and Silverberg at 20 back in 2011-12, Stone in particular was still far away from being an NHL regular,
Gave 20 yr old Colin White a game in 2017.

Nobody was expecting any of these guys to be a savior. Nobody should be expecting Yakumchuk to be a savior, he's come in with the long term benefits of gaining that experience as the goal,

It's way easier to throw a forward in than a defenceman.

Yakemchuk isn't ready for this. It would be bad for him and it would be bad for the team. Anyone who actually watched him this year would say the same.

They were all forwards for 1 and they were more NHL ready based on their play leading into the playoffs

We did it with Brian Lee back in 08 as well, it isn't unheard of. We're at the point where we're going to shorten the bench significantly anyways. It's home ice so you can insulate him, put him in situations that are manageable.

He's not ready. I don't know how else to put it. Why put a young kid in the lineup when he's not ready for it? It won't be good for him, and it will definitely not be good for the team.

Because they did it with Brian Lee is not a good reason.

Lee's bust status now makes sense

Go 11-7 and put him on PP2, or on the point on OS faceoffs, with his big shot.

It's a home game, so they can control his deployment at ES. O-zone faceoffs, etc. A road game might be a different story.

There is obviously merit to saying don't dress a player with 0 NHL experience in an elimination game. Especially at defense.

Well I guess I just disagree with the assumption that it will definitely not be good for him. I've admittedly only watched a few games and some highlights of him in Cgy, but between what I saw and his Pre-season, doesn't align with the idea that there's no potential benefit of him getting this experience. We can agree to disagree I guess, I'm not looking for him to change the series or anything, I just think there is value in him getting exposure to what the highest level looks like.
