Laval Rocket: GDT: Game FOUR- Rochester at Laval 7PM EST

It s similar to the Stanley cup once preliminary rounds are donne actually : you have 2 games to win your division bracket, then one to win your conference then one to win the while thing :)
Yeah, I know, but all the jumps from round the 3 best of 5 to 4 of 7 when you're not in the habit are a bit confusing.

Priimeau is the reason they finished 1st overall. No bad choice right now with him or Fowler.

Right now, he deserves the net due to his play last game and Fowler's last start.

I had a problem with them ham-fisting him in when Fowler was hot earlier. As long as the goalie rotation makes logic sense, they both should play.

If Primeau closes out this series I expect the rotation to stop. Conference finals is no time to play musical goalies even if Primeau loses a game here and there.

Will depend on the performance for me.. since Fowler lost his net to Primeau twice for no reason. If Primeau has a stinker, then Fowler deserves another shot to get the net. But that would be as far as my rope would go at that point.

Fowler is the future but this team battled hard all year to get where they are and Primeau established himself as arguably the best goalie in the AHL. Yes in an ideal scenario you could give the net to Fowler like they did to Price back in 2007. Primeau would have been the starter had he not been called up so the premise that Primeau took the net from Fowler is not accurate. Fowler is the back up on this current team, a very promising player but this is Primeau's team.
Fowler's time starts next season.

Yes, but he was called up. And Fowler took his opportunity and should have been given the leash until there was a reason to give it back. Which organically happened already in this Rochester playoff series.

Fowler should never have been pulled from the net following a shut-out victory. Nor after another "shut-out" performance to close out a series.

I have no problem with Primeau being given last game and believe he should continue to get the net after last games performance and Fowler's previous performance. That's how a system on merit works. Especially when you have two goalies performing well in net.

That's sports. Sometimes injuries or call-ups or other things happen to give someone an opportunity and you should never cut that opportunity short for someone, especially when they are taking advantage of it. Imagine the Rams just pulled Kurt Warner out of the QB position that year because their other starter got healthy?

All good points. Fowler will have his moments, maybe even during this run.

He's already got more experience than I thought he would get, so I'm happy about that. I just think they forced Primeau in to starts in spots where Fowler should have continued with the net, knowing that it was unlikely Fowler wasn't going to have an outing where it'd make sense to go back to Primeau.

Ideally we'd only have to use one goalie because we win every game but that's not the reality.
