The difference between this team's play under Richards and Torts is night and day.. these past two games, this group has been so motivated.

Now, the real question is - is that difference "because Tortorella", or "because Coach Just Got Fired"?

Reserving judgment on that call myself, despite certain overwhelming prejudices. :)

My agreement is such that it warrants a Letestu head bob.

This makes me sad.

But I did not want Torts, but when we hired him I reserved judgement. I see a lot of things that I like that really doesn't have anything to do with the scoreboard necessarily. I posted them at length in the other Torts thread, and don't feel like retreading here, but I'll just say that so far I'm seeing a lot of good things. It's still early, and I haven't completely made up my mind yet, but so far I think it's going better than I thought it would have.

I was "fine" with the hiring of tortorella Of course this start isn't all on Richard's but a change had to be made. Giving up a 2nd round pick was souring. If the 2nd round pick is a mid to late 2nd I'd be more fine with it.

it's still way too early to see long-term on this. Yes, the play might be better, but it's still 2 games. Interested to see how the play continues for this year and beyond.

Tortorella was no my first choice. I had hopped the ducks fired Boudreau and we could have hired him. A coaching change was needed. I'm glad it happened but not my first choice. That being said, I approve.

Torts will be fired within two years but he's what this debacle needs right now.... I give JD credit for finally making a move... JD can be a stubborn old man but losing 7 in row matching a world record finally made him do something..

Ooooh, not a Boudreau fan at all.

I don't think the difference between Boudreau and Richards would be enough. The same reason I don't see Anaheim hiring Richards if Boudreau is fired. From my understanding, both are "player's coaches".
