Not sure if this is paywalled at Lohud but I'm a subscriber and I thought I would post it here.

Do the Rangers have a culture problem? An exclusive look at what's bubbling at MSG

Thanks to the power of social media, it didn’t take long for Jacob Trouba’s zinger of a quote to make the rounds on various text chains involving people currently and previously associated with the Rangers.

“It's a rite of passage to get fired from MSG,” the discarded captain told reporters after being traded to the Anaheim Ducks on Dec. 6.

Jim Ramsey got fired because he was leaking rumors to the media for years. There's a reason he ran right into Gorton's waiting arms. Maybe that will make Cryder and Meeka accept a trade there.

Vince really thought he was accomplishing something writing the 70th "Dolan is a meddler" piece of my lifetime.

I understand being annoyed as a player about how the Trouba and Goodrow things went down. The rest is, eh, I don't know, normal churn when a new administration comes in? I don't know, just seems like these are mainly excuses. You still need to go out there and play.

The fact that anyone felt the need to write an "exclusive" like this shows how little self awareness there is among the players. As for the employees who apparently have an ax to grind, I will gladly take their job working for the New York Rangers if they don't like it.

Trouba getting traded had to happen. 8.5mm a year to suck at hockey is unacceptable.

Goodrow at 3.5mm right after he had an outstanding post season imo was a mistake to trade him the way they did with waivers.

If you look at Mika right now he also sucks and gets paid 8.5mm? I think but has a nmc for quite a few more years. The Rangers are f***ed with their Mika situ and theres no easy way out.

The Kakko trade that just went down well, in a year hes a free agent and tho he has some talent he always finds a way to f*** it up. I dont care Kakkos gone and they got a 3rd round pick and a defense player who maybe can help them though doubtful.

The Rangers right now you can only hope miraculously turn the season around but its oh so doubtful.

The Ramsey stuff is weird and I have no doubt it played a role in the what we’re witnessing now. I don’t buy the whole “he was leaking stuff” theory. I’ve heard other theory’s that frankly sound a lot more in line with what Dolan and Drury would do.

In any case, seemingly someone needs to come up with a way to clone Sather and bring him back so Dolan can f*** off to just writing checks

These Americans are babies. Select good solid Canadian boys. Trouba is mad. Kreider is mad. Trocheck is mad. Just leave. Call Dolan. We don't like this and that. We can trade you so you can be happy again.

But then they couldnt have their cake and eat it to. Can Vince write an article about, idk, how the team can win an effing game?

Its this whole crybaby attitude that is the reason why in that moment when it can happen the Rangers dont knock their opponent on their ass and fight their way to the net and score. Certain players like Laf, Fox, Cuylle, the kids have fight but not the "elite" vets. I have my tiny viloin to play for their hurt feelings.

Under the previous regime, former team president Glen Sather remained very involved as a senior adviser and what one source described as "the buffer" between ownership and hockey operations. Dolan trusted Sather as much as any executive in recent memory, with another source describing Sather as "almost a father figure." Dolan would air grievances to Sather, who in turn kept the owner at an arm's length from Davidson and Gorton.

Multiple sources described Sather as having a skill for assuaging Dolan's concerns while tamping down any impulses he might share. The meddling during this period was kept to a minimum.

But since Drury took over, Sather has faded further into the background, culminating with his official retirement earlier this year. The result has been Drury answering directly to Dolan while fielding any complaints, suggestions or otherwise.

This tells me all I need to know and the thing many have been worried about. Everything starts from the top. Just look at the Mets under the Wilpons compared to now under Cohen. Look at the dysfunction of the Jets.

The "culture" problem is that we play hockey like children and won't go to the middle of the ice. The trades have largely been targeted at players responsible for that.

Gorton bought out Henrik f***ing Lundqvist but I guess you're the good guy if you send a nice letter about it first. Optics are everything.

Unless he did something egregious that absolutely deserved a termination (which it does not seem like because I'd imagine it would have been out there by now), it's pretty embarrassing to not recognize or even acknowledge him when he came back. MSG went out of their way to not show him on the broadcast.

"Before seeing respected teammates unceremoniously dangled or cast aside, many Rangers were taking notice of other changes. There have been dismissals within the front office, scouting, public relations and social media departments, with the latter no longer permitted to travel with the team due to an incident last spring."

A Ranger was dipping their pen in the company ink if I had to guess.
