It should not come as any surprise to anybody who has watched Florida for the last two years that they use physical play to get inside other teams' heads. You just have to be prepared to deal with it and give back at least as much, if not more, than they are dishing out.

In game one of the 2023 SCF, Florida came out in Game 1 and tried to play physical against Vegas, apparently not realizing that Vegas gets off on that style of play. For Vegas, that was like giving sugar cubes to toddlers. Florida got roughed up badly in Game 1 and it honestly wasn't much of a series after that.

Don't let Florida's physical play detract from the fact that they are also a very talented team and well-deserving of their Cup. It's just that soft teams over a long series aren't going to have much chance of success against them. But then, soft teams almost never go deeply into the playoffs anyway because eventually somebody will get in their heads.

Could’ve easily called Tkachuk for bumping into the goalie. But let’s just overlook what the goalie did with his stick as Tkachuk skated past as we’re preaching about following the rule book. Matching minors before Tkachuk ever came back out in front of the net.
This is what people mean when they say Florida gets away with everything. It's not just matching minors. It's 4 minors on Tkachuk and one on the goalie. And the goal shouldn't count.

That's 5 to 1 in favor of the Panthers on this sequence.

Well, if it’s matching minors the play is stopped before anything else occurs. But since they both were let go...
The little shot he gave varly after coming back in front had no impact on the goal. I get the goalie is usually in bubble wrap, but that would never be called against another skater. The rest you may have on your list must be after the goal was scored, so would have no bearing on if the goal counts or not.

As an isles fan I didn’t see anything wrong. Thats his game.
Varly could have gotten called for a hook/slash. He gave Varly a little cross check and that was it. He was in the crease but the puck was loose.

I wasn’t up in arms thinking there should have been a penalty there or thinking Tkachuk got away with something.
Are you in a room full of Florida men? Are you safe?
