Do the Florida Panthers have a claim to be the most hated team in the league right now?

Leafs, Lakers, Yankees, and Cowboys will always be the most hated and most loved in their respective sports......That ain't changing anytime soon......

(Opinion oriented of course but i'm very conifdent i'm dead on the money)

Haters these days will hate the sun just for shining. Back in the old school as a sports fan you were raised to be more discriminating. Have a sound reason for hating. If not logically at least emotionally.

That they are well run for the first time in forever and no longer a sorry ass hot dog giveaway pro hockey team doesn't pass the smell test for me. Feel the same way about Vegas. They're a big bully team with a ton of talent, can play the heel really well. For me as a hockey enjoyer what's not to like. Tkachuk and Bennett two of my favourite Flames as well.
+ taking away Oiler hopes to just give them all back and then crush them in one final moment is my kind of sick.

As an unbiased person I am certain the Leafs are still #1 in the most hated category.

Think you have to be relevant to be hated, or at least accomplish something when there was more than 6 teams in the league.

Back when I just watched the Coyotes on TV and didn't discuss it online anywhere (i.e. 2001-2011) the east was totally irrelevant to me. The Leafs were just a bunch of yahoos who never did anything outside of their 2002 conference finals run. On the other hand, I hated just about every team in the west, especially LA and Dallas.

As a Wings fan, Florida is the team I appreciate the most. They're just good, and I admire them. Plus, they were a doormat for so long, it's hard to root against them. Toronto, Montreal, Pittsburg... Far more unlikeable.

I have a bit of a soft spots for the caps. He plays goalie and I miss him . That and it was a good first season, I have no qualms about it being the caps who put a stop to us.
