80's to 1995 all the way! Enough of the shoulder yokes. So many teams have them. It clutters the jersey. The solid white and solid black jersey's are such a cleaner look (with the Gold rim and Black rim spoked B). And yes, bring back the gold socks and give the Penguins back their socks. I really do wonder who's running the S-Show on Causeway when it comes to the Bruins uniforms.

I still can't believe they stuck with those Fleet Center hideous jersey's for as long as they did. This was a period in Bruins hockey where I never have an interest in revisiting.

The current road whites are another cluster of Bruins nothing-ness. Black shoulder Yoke (nasty) and the arm and waist striping which represents nothing in Bruins history. They couldn't even get that right!
Back when Dale Arnold used to post here, he mentioned he’d seen a preview of the 2007-08 uniforms and that the blacks were inspired by the 1970s darks and the whites by the FleetCenter lights.

You can sort of see the inspiration for the shoulders and hem stripes on the current set here.

I agree 100% with all of what you said! No other Original 6 team that moved into a new arena, changed their uniforms. The Bruins did a total make-over moving into the Fleetcenter.

It's like they didn't want to preserve any of the old Boston Garden history when they moved into new Fleetcenter.
Well who knows the reason. Probably something to do with sales. I hated those Fleetcenter jerseys. I think a 3rd jersey on special occasions is where you can experiment once in a while. Give the marketing department something to do.

I'm nobody but I recently heard a rumor from a team related source that we were going to go back to the Bourque era jerseys next year. Could be nothing but I wouldn't throw it out there if I wasn't willing to get called on it in 9 months.
I hope so!

I thought the first yellow shoulder patch fleet center jerseys were the best and they've slightly gone downhill since.

Was gonna wear mine that I wore to G7 in 2011 but it's way too stained must have happened blacking out after the blues loss.

The Canadiens, Blackhawks, and Red Wings haven’t changed their uniforms in our lifetimes.

If they can figure out their threads, why can’t the Bruins?

The Bruins change their jersey configuration more than any other original six team. I don't know why. Just leave it alone. Go back to the Neely era jerseys. They were perfect.

Habs, Blackhawks, Red Wings, Leafs have all had the same jersey for decades. Rangers had a brief period during the Torts era where they had a darker blue and statue of Liberty crest, but otherwise the same for most of their history. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Leafs changed their uniforms in 1970 when Buffalo came into the league, and Buffalo adopted the old Toronto uniforms, but with the added gold trim. Their first GM Punch Imlach had been the Leaf GM until da Broons destroyed them in the first round in 1969, winning the first two games 10-0 and 7-0.

Those Ranger unis were hideous. They started that when Espo and Hodge were still Rangers.

John Ferguson designed those 70s Rangers jerseys, and when they fired him and switched back to the originals, Ferguson went to Winnipeg with the exact same jerseys.

I don't understand. You don't like the black socks?

What other team wears bright socks with dark jerseys?
No one, that's the point, it was our thing.

It was always our thing and it looked great.
