Can't have # 81. That's going up in the rafters with the name Satan on the back.

Anyone else buy this during the 2010 playoff run when Satan was going wild?

but it actually does matter in the schematics. nothing to do w/ Providence's roster the team assigns all the #'s to roster and prospects, and Beecher has 19, it's why 21 is open as is 12 now

Hmm weird. Never knew this. I always just assumed that the numbers they wore in Providence didn’t affect the big club since some share the numbers.

Could Beecher give up the number if asked?

They don't. A player can have different numbers between the AHL/NHL or in some cases the same if they are both available. Also @CHRDANHUTCH #21 is currently assigned to Fabian Lysell

Coming around to the thought of an Orlov Clifton bottom pair. There's some good dynamic thump there and a matchup nightmare for opponents

Gryz McAvoy
Lindholm Carlo
Orlov Clifton

I remember when we signed Savard and Savvy actually had the gall to ask Chief if he'd let him wear the #9. He politely declined.

That was Savvy's first introduction to respect those who have come before you. Savvy grew up when he came to Boston and we were all so lucky to see it.
Brings back memories of Sinden giving Guy Lapointe number 5. Glad some remembered that was Dit Clapper's number. Bet Orlov takes 81. Edit to Edit: If they had not retired 22, think they would have assigned him that.

Super impressed with Orlovs offensive skill and finish. We finally have a guy like Chara that shoots bombs. I wanted Chychrun for his ability to make things happen from the point. Orlie is that, he hits and is more durable. Add in we kept Lohrei, Harrison, Cliffy and Lysell. I could not be happier with the additions and Sweeney.

Personally I think I try to have a top 4 D on each pairing and then situationally switch it up. I also really liked Lindholm-Clifton to start the year, it is something id like to see them try again. Something like:

Gryz-Mac
Lindholm-Clifton
Orlov-Carlo

Interesting pairs . I never really thought of trying Lindholm- Clifton . I kind of like Lindholm - Carlo together because Lindholm is so good defensively and he’s helping Carlo to steady his game . Obviously Orlov is no slouch so an Orlov- Carlo pair might work . When the chips are down though I definitely want Lindholm on the ice .
