Dmitri Gamzin G 115th Overall 2024 NHL DRAFT

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

I got nothing, but the goalies this draft are all over the map. Being he is from CSKA I bet Naumovs influenced this pick.

2nd best Sv% in the KHL last season, small sample with only 13 games, but still. 20 years old, little more developed than a younger goalie. I like it, Naumovs knows his stuff id assume.

Do we know how big he is? It seems like anything under around 6'2" anymore would be on the "small" side.

@Caser what can you tell us about Gamzin? Thank you
I guess you already guessed that he is actually Naumov's pick, as he was believing in his potential back in the CSKA. But I think we are talking more about the potential than about the current ability even though his KHL numbers look fancy (however if you look at his VHL numbers those are only average). Moves very well, got a solid size, can make some highlight reel saves, but is still raw and streaky. One more KHL contract year left. Some highlights:

Does he play a hybrid style?

@Chapin Landvogt, if I recall correctly you called the possibility of a Russian goalie prospect due to the Naumovs hiring.

I dunno if I did that here but I did do it at Facebook somewhere.:-)

Call it a hunch, but I felt like if we were going Russian for the first time since Iskhakov, it'd be a goalie.

And yes, I think the Naumovs addition had me thinking we'd see some kind of correlation...
