I would think no because Gamzin will likely need a year or two to continue to develop/adjust to NA etc.

With Varlamov having two more years on his deal after this one, that would mean Gamzin could hypothetically become the de facto backup in '27/28, which suprisingly will have Sorokin 12 months out from being a UFA.

Call Lou , The Islanders will take him ..

Varly has been a great soldier since he has been here and has not been part of the problem with the lack of success on the ice .

Who do we have behind him? Can the Whale play 82?
Would Sorokin have signed here?
 
Isles drafted Sorokin in 2014 and he came over in 2020.

Gamzin was drafted in 2024, so signing a 2 year extension in 2025 to play with CKSA is not a terrible thing. And understandable when Varly is signed for 2 more years and Hogberg for 1 more year.
