It was funny to see Leonard wind up the full slapper in the zone on the first attempt at the ENG.
I think he was getting annoyed they had missed a few not difficult shots on the empty net…..I know I was…

I’d like to thank the great state of Canada and Gov Troudeau for their hospitality this evening…;)

I mean, it’s not a bad call, try to scare players off of blocking the shot. Helps that it can also annoy the opponent, which seems like something he’s more than fine with.

Main board thread on the last 10 minutes is pretty amusing, since even Canadian supporters were forced to come to terms with how stupid and self-immolating Canada played. Blame evenly about evenly allocated between Cameron, Hockey Canada, and the thug caveman antics of the players themselves.

Choice comment on how the Canadians played: “It's like a crackhead trying to prove he's a normal human like the rest of us.”

Hutson could have legitimately won player of the game again. He had a beautiful all on my own goal. He singlehandedly created the second goal and had some terrific defensive plays like breaking up that 2 on 1. Augustine was terrific too though but wow is it cool to see Hutson starting to take the next steps from good prospect to potentially elite prospect. Great scouting.

Yeah, I also haven’t been seeing any questionable defense from him, it feels like when he’s on the ice good things are happening.

He's looked head and shoulders better than Zeev Buium. Although in all fairness I think Zeev was probably asked to tone it down a bit and play heavy steady minutes. Either way an impressive tournament for him so far.

Thought I'd see more skill on the PP from Buium to be honest.
So did I. Not really jumping off the page for me though. I don't think he's been especially bad but he really hasn't been the stud #1 I was expecting to dominate. I really was hoping to draft him last draft. Loved him going into the draft didn't think we'd have a chance at 17 though. In contrast everytime Hutson has the puck on the PP it's high danger chance after chance. He looks like the real #1PPQB. Even being paired with Hensler at even strength off and on he's dangerous... Speaking of unimpressed, Henslers draft stock has dropped tremendously for me. He looks lost and outmatched at every turn. Lot of top 10 rankings for him... I'm not buying it.

Not sure if it was in the 2nd or the 3rd period but Hutson and the 2nd unit pp was on and he was bringing it up through the middle at seemingly max speed. Two forward start to pinch him in the middle and he does that Kuzy type burst of speed without lifting his feet and almost made it through the D pair.

WTF is it with Easton Cowan and Pinelli for Canada. Are they coached to go and play like Matt Rempe, or did they decide on their own that the best thing for their game and their team is to skate around and act like a predator every shift?

That's why Canada built the team like they did and left some star power home. They think that's how you win.

Cowan boarding penalty at the end of the game was master class stupid. If I am the coach he rides the pine in theQF. But I’m not and he won’t
