The pitch in El Salvador looks like someone's back yard after a herd of cows wandered through.

Should be interesting where they play. Sadly the nearest we locals can expect World Cup soccer might be Baltimore.

Paul Pogba says he wants to prove Manchester United wrong after claiming their reported £300,000-a-week offer to keep him was “nothing”.

what a dick….fascinated to know what Juventus is going to pay him if 300k a week is “nothing”….

I‘m sure he’ll bounce back to try and rub it in Man U’s face…..but I wouldn’t want that dude on my team. They made the right call moving on.

It did not, however, select the U.S. capital. Washington D.C. merged its bid with Baltimore to counter FIFA's concerns with FedEx Field, the oft-ridiculed home of the Washington Commanders. FIFA officials confirmed widespread negative perceptions of the stadium when they toured it last fall.

Seems incredible that they send him out on loan instead of selling him. He's 30 next summer.

This is the kind of business that regularly would get someone fired if we weren't talking about Chelsea or Man Utd.

Not going to completely disagree but he only wanted to go to Inter so that limited the market. I also would like to know what his salary was at Chelski and am assuming Inter is paying all of his €8m salary so the Blues are getting a sizable chunk of salary off their books, plus I’m under the impression Lukaku took a reasonable salary reduction to make this happen.

From the moment he said last winter he wanted to go back to Inter this wasn’t going to end well for Chelski. I completely understand cutting their losses and moving on as best they can.

It's almost as if you should have known that already when the same player spent half of his career for you already before. That was my point. Same with Pogba and Man Utd.

He was a proven instant impact add….you hope guys grow up, but some of them have clearly been told they’re amazing and can do no wrong for waaaaaaaaay too long. Didn’t love it then, happy to have him shuttled off for now until he can bounce back for a sale hopefully.

Proven where? International stage? Serie A?

Certainly not proven in the Premier League for a title contender. In that role he was a failure for twice before already. Third time the charm now.

Some players just don't fit the Premier League very well. It's normal. I don't really get why you need to keep forcing something that clearly doesn't fit. There are lots of great strikers around and 99% of them would love to join Chelsea AND be available for less than 100 million.

I’m not sure I can fault him during his first stint at Chelski. He was young and frankly not given much of a chance at all by a manager known for not giving young players chances.

And I wouldn’t call ManUre a ‘title contender’ before, during, or after his time there so not really understanding that reference. Plus his goal scoring numbers there weren’t too far off his Everton ones.

And this season he started off well. He wasn’t scoring a lot but he was incredibly disruptive to opposing defenses and drawing a ton of attention, which opened up lots of space for everyone else and the team was doing very well. And then he got hurt and it was never the same and then the interview came out and that was pretty much the end.

He is a player who needs to be the focal point and he was that at Everton and Inter and he thrived at both. If not he can tend to drift out of games.
