Did the last 6 years get Corey Perry into the HHOF

He shouldn’t get in, but they’ve been watering down the criteria to get in for a few years now. So he will get in.

isn't he part of the triple gold club? he was def getting in before the last 6 years

Guys got a Hart, a cup, league wide reputation and played for over twenty years

He's in easily

I disagree. His overall prime trailed off, he slowed down a lot earlier than most with his peak. Those two are strong arguments, and I think it's possible he would have made the hall of fame off that, but very possible he was on the outside looking in too.

I think the last few years of playoffs definitely gives him a much stronger case.

Depends on how you look at it. Getting the cup finals is no easy task. He's got stats that put him up there and he's been on really good teams that go far. You could look at it from both sides and I dont think he should hang his head too low even though it definitely looks like he's going to lose another one.

I dont think anything should be considered definite in this roller coaster series.

I think this one is going the distance again.

I need to study the HHOF criteria because in my mind he should be a lock. Cups, Olympic Gold, solid prime and excellent longevity. He’s never played a soft game, always been a dog.

If he gets in, then you have to put Elias and Zetterberg in because they were much much better players. Defensively stronger and as clutch, if not more so.

Perry is apart of the small Triple Gold Club. Add the personal hardware and his long playing career makes him a lock for the HHoF. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't have their elevator going all the way to the top.

I think there are too many spreadsheet people in here vs hockey fans.

Points and stats 100% play a vital role. But you're lying to yourself if you think that is 95% of what gets you into the HHOF.

Anyone who's watched hockey since Perry came in the league and even before he did would know how valuable and also rare his style of play coupled with the peaks of his scoring prowess were. He continued to be an effective pest, instigator and formidable scoring threat throughout his career while the league continued to evolve away from hitting, fighting, and the like. His adapted play style in his last 6yrs due to age and play style is still effective in his new role.

I think it's a bit more than coincidence that his teams have made finals 5 of the past 6 years. Not saying he's tha main reason by any stretch. But teams with guys like him, Marchand, Bennet, etc playing the middle 6 are what cup teams seem to have more than star goaltending tbh.

Which makes the HHOF quite meaningless.

Sorry, when the same Hall holds Gretzky, Orr, Lemieux, Howe and Yzerman, Perreault, Bossy, Lafleur ....as well as Oates, Langway, Shanghai, Lindros.....

It's pretty much meaningless to be a member in it
It's Hockey Hall of Fame. Not NHL Hall of Legends.

His team and individual accomplishments pretty easily pass the sniff test as far as players making it in, and I say this as a Kings fan.

Team accomplishments should never be included.

And he is a player that will be forgotten once he retires, hardly warrsnts an entry into a legitimate Hall of Legends

I bet Matthew Tkachuk would be elated for Perry if he ends up in the HHOF. If Perry is snubbed too many times, I bet MT would speak up.
