According to Dhaliwal:

The Canucks and Boeser have yet to engage in any contract talks. As per Dhaliwal, They wont let Boeser walk away for nothing in the offseason and if they dont have a new contract in order by TDL, He will be moved.

Boeser of course is upcoming UFA but has expressed his desire to stay in Van,

Canucks management is in a tough position as the team is in limbo right now in regards to making the playoffs and selling/buying.

Boeser is still only 27 yrs old.

Playing at a 33 goal pace this year.. Scored 40 goals last year inlcuding 7 in 12 playoff games.

Trade deadline cost is probably around a 1st pick or young prospect NHL ready or soon to be at least.

New Contract cost as UFA this summer is probably : 7/8 years around 8mil a season.

Any playoff team interested in a goal scoring winger for the playoff run?

Dallas especially if Seguin is out til the playoffs and they can dick around with LTIR.

Petty, and im not sure if its still on going but Canucks owner and Dallas owner hate eachother. I dont actually remember the last time the 2 teams made a trade , or a big trade. If this beef is still going on, i dont see Van trying to help Dallas win a cup.

Lol stupid i know. If they are passed it then fore sureDallas would be a great fit for Boeser. Having 1 shot game breakers like Boeser and Robertson for the playoff run would be lethal.

What could Dallas offer.... Bischel untouchable but thats exactly what the Canucks would be looking for. Top 4 Dman or prospect that can slide into being a top 4 soon.

Sell. Lots of teams should be after Boeser and the Canucks as constructed won’t make it past any of the contenders out of the West.

I doubt the Canucks will give Brock what He wants. Eight plus million? It is unfortunate because He has been Here so long, and He is all around a good Guy and teammate.
Why don't the Wild part ways with Kaprizov and bring Brock home?

Seems pricey on a rental winger. Suppose it depends on the market.

Toffoli got a second and a third last year.

As long as you have a solid guy who drives play and a good passer on the line, Boeser would be a good rental. Don't expect him to do much of anything on his own.

The issue with Boeser is that he has always been a quality top 6 winger but has only shown himself to be a truly elite goal scorer once. His every other stat through the eye test is meh. He's currently good for a goal every other game which is huge but his wanting $8+ million is not gonna fly when he's got a career of inconsistency and injuries.

So far he has shown himself to be more of a product of his line mates than his own talent so if he is asking the large the Canucks have to trade him or risk watching yet another asset walk for absolutely nothing.

Which, honestly aside from the Canucks 50 year need to sell futures and refuse to build through the draft consistently, in order to compete for the middle has been a staple of that team since inception.

Toffoli is 5 years older and has literally never scored 40 goals in his career, so I don't think it's unreasonable to expect Brock to return more than Toffoli.

The Canucks should reinvest that capspace into defense and speed/size up front. Lekkerimaki should be able to provide some of Boeser’s goal scoring.

I can see the Canucks re-signing him but it would be at a total team friendly deal like 7x 7.5

Age seems inconsequential for a rental. Would think that current level of play would matter more given that the guy is likely gone in a few months.

Toffoli had 26 goals for the devils last year when he was moved.

The year before he had 34 goals, 73 points compared to Boeser having 40 and 73.

I don't know, seems pretty comparable to me.

Boeser maybe gets the playoff performer bump though. I Don't think Toffoli has been that great in the playoffs in his career

It should be easy either way. I think you resign him but man, I can't imagine there wouldn't be 10 teams offering legit packages for him if he makes it to the trade block.

It's always the term with these guys. I wouldn't want to give him an eight-year contract either with his average skating and injury history. It looks like the Canucks are likely going to have a complete overhaul.

Boeser scoring literally 40 goals instead of 39 one season really doesn't make him that much more valuable than Toffoli.

Toffoli has outscored him by more than 10 goals since the 2020-21 season. Their value is a lot closer than you seem to think.

The good ol' 8 (or 7 if changing teams) years, NMC that everyone gets these days.

Ahhh Canucks brass leaking this to the press in hopes of pressuring Brock to sign.......pretty clear that's what is happening here.

I would rather move him and allocate that cap elsewhere and hope Lekkermaki can step up and fill his shoes.........

You see it, you see it, and you still can't stop it. Now that's a good play. It's really one of the biggest crises facing NHL teams and their financials. Paying "good" players for mostly past exploits, long term with a NMC. NHL GMs can't help themselves.

I swear if the Canucks pull a Calgary and trade him to VGK I'm gonna lose it
He'd be great on the Oilers. Can you imagine someone with his smarts playing with a McDavid or Draisaitl?

How is this pressuring him to sign? If anything, this is just making him want to get out of that cancer locker room asap.

He gets to go to a contender who likely will also want to pay him (if they are giving up significant assets).

That said, I'd be scared to death to sign this guy to anything more than 4-5 years. He's linemate dependent with significant injury concerns. He's also a weak skater at 28. What's that going to look like?

The Canucks haven’t attempted at all to extend him, and now they’re gonna try and rush a contract or else trade him?
