Devin Setoguchi signs PTO with LA Kings

I read his story in the latest The Hockey News issue, so I'm glad for him that he's back in the NHL. However, I just wouldn't expect more than 10 goals and 30 points.

It's actually worse than that for him money wise.
It was reported he's making AHL min as well. Which is around 45K if he gets sent down.
 
It's a "show us what you got" contract. He stepped up in preseason. We'll see what he can do in the regular. It wouldn't take a lot to outplay some of the guys honestly.

I remember him from his days with the Sharks. He has the skill. If he can recover his confidence, he could be a 20 - 25 goal scorer - even here in Defenseland, CA.

We couldn't come up with 2 mil to sign Hudler? Or less for Versteeg? Instead we sign Seto to play on the top 6? Hudler/Carter/Toffoli would have made a great 2nd line.

Toffoli/Pearson have to be resigned, the Kings have to be careful with any cap money spent.

Players also have to be willing to sign with the Kings, and play Kings hockey.

Seto already mentioned how he changed his style a little, to meet the (200ft of ice) requirement the Kings demand.

They have Hudler or Versteeg, his name is Purcell. Basically all the same player. And they didn't sign Setoguchi to play in the top 6. It was a tryout, and Gaborik got hurt.

2 million would have taken us to the cap, plus hudler is soffffffft.

Versteeg, kinda weird that they let him go in the first place, but Seto is definitely hungry and allegedly healthy, all things being equal, he's the better player anyway, and for league minimum. Plus Versteeg is always. injured.

I think we're just going 'grass is greener' all over again.
 
Hate to pile on, but Hudler is two seasons away from his breakout with the Flames -- which was really a unicorn for him, career stats wise.
