Hischier isn’t even trying to lead offensively lately . He’s playing deep defensively and it looks like he’s expecting NJ to turn it over on the d zone exit . Something is off with them as a group as other have noted.

I wonder if he is playing hurt. I dont remember which game it was some weeks ago that he got hurt more than usually and he's been weak offensively since.

Ya, I broadly agree with what he’s saying. Other teams have the Devils pre-scouted almost perfectly and the Devils struggle to not play their “A” game.

I actually think the breakouts are worse when the Devils don’t have a forward high because then nobody is moving nor open and the team gives the player with the puck no option.
