Staal never struck me as a guy who would sugar coat anything.

I hope he is as honest with himself about his own abilities and hangs em up after this year.

The Staal family know that money doesn't grow on trees.

I'd be surprised if he just passed on something like 4 million dollars unless he's been investing well over his career or wants to preserve what is left of his physical health.

I don't get the impression that Marc is playing for the love of the game any more at all. It's a painful toil

No brainer for me I buy out both Staal and Smith this summer. No hard feelings thanks for your service. I won’t lose players I like to keep these two around another season

Or he might be presented with a cushy opportunity that would provide earnings stream well after he retires from hockey.

I'm not opposed to that kind of stuff, just feel like it doesn't happen often.

We had to buyout Drury and we still ended up bringing him back in the org. Same with Broadway Brad

Let's go smack these scrubs around and embarrass them. Hope it's not the other way around, can't see it happening, calling multi point games for Panarin and Kreider, would love to see Kakko show some flashes infront of the NJ fans, pretty meaningless game I guess, but gotta stick with the program.

That would just hurt our cap situation even further for 21-22 when this team should be in a better spot than next season. If you can trade them even retaining 50% fine but I don't think a buyout is the right thing to do

Bury smith next year If necessary.

Pull a Chicago/Tampa and LTIR Staal.

like DB, at this point I don’t want any carryover on their contracts beyond what they’ve already committed to.

Rangers love holding the puck until a Devil can get in position to block it

stop doing that
