Good Night
Why not. would you rather have a ticket to win a car, $100 or nothing.
What are the odds on the car? If it's 1:16 I'm taking the ticket

Oh **** me Knob Creek is delicious.
Drinking a beer that sat in Heaven Hill barrels for a while to celebrate a win, does that count for anything?
He's just saying that either is better than this limbo the Devils are in now, where their draft pick isn't that great, and they're still mathematically eliminated from making the playoffs, and I agree.
The New Jersey Devil's select with their 1st round draft pick...
Nope, he's not saying that. THAT I would agree with.
Go look at his posts. I directly asked him about that and he said he had no preference between a top 4 pick and a playoff berth. Then went on to say he'd rather the top 4 pick ($100).
Guess what? the difference between us and a top 4 pick = 3 games. the difference between us and a playoff berth = 3 games.
So you can choose either if you're re-writing history. Which do you choose?
Nevermind then. I must have missed the rest of the conversation. Still would be a tough choice, imo. A one-and-done playoff trip (which I think honestly is all this Devils team would do) is better than no playoffs at all, but a top 4 pick in a highly touted draft class? That could be huge for the future of the team, especially with how barren the team's prospect pool is.
Brodeur almost had a chance to shoot for the empty Montreal net in the final minute when the Canadiens dumped the puck into the right corner of the Devils’ end. Brodeur had to wait for the puck to reach him in the trapezoid behind the net, though, and by the time it did it was too late for him to try to shoot.
“Yeah, I wish I could, but what are you going to do?” he said. “That trapezoid, they knew when they put it in.”

Don't worry Marty, I'm sure the trapezoid will be gone in the next couple years.
Wait...
