Time for me to make my 2nd early exit of the season.

First one was the October Tampa game when we started to leave, came back after we scored twice, and then officially left early.

I'm probably the most noted Markstrom hater on this board, games like this happen, he just put a really good 3-4 game stretch before this. He won the Rags game on Saturday arguably.
This is arguably his worst game of the season. Up there with Pittsburgh.

3 goals in the 3rd period.

To be fair, none of the 3rd period goals were bad.

ALL of goals 2-4 were.

Watch now.

We bounce back and win on Friday....but EVERY TEAM that lost tonight that would've helped us clinch will win in regulation prolonging this shit.

That's fine by me, I'd rather do that than go to a "pointless" game Friday that I would have used a buyback on. I planned on using a buyback for Friday and Saturday if we clinched tonight, oops lol

I think we need to calm down a little bit. More positives than negatives these last few games. Tonight was a pretty bad game, regroup and come back strong next game. Bruins killed the Canes the other night too.

Yes I know, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for this game, I doubt he goes on another skid game. They'll probably pump one of the Pens or Isles coming up. The worry should be the skaters getting their heads consistently on board.

How many goals does the Loch Ness Markster have to allow tonight to get pulled?

And how many goals does he have to allow tonight to not get the start the next game?

He's probably gonna be under .900% on the season after tonight.

Or at the very least lower than what he was even before the Rangers shutout.
Has Keefe actually pulled a goalie this season? I can't recall. He seems very reluctant to do so.

It is kind of funny after everybody was saying he's back that he shits the bed.

Can they just pretend they're playing the Rangers every night?

He had a few games in there besides the NYR game where he was good, it's just goaltending. He was not good tonight but a lot of clownery happened besides Markstrom. Classic let down game after a win v a rival.

Markstrom is either gonna be a god in the playoffs or he’s gonna pull a Vanacek.

The only thing worse than the goaltending tonight is Fitz’ inability to find the right goalie for this team for half a decade.
To be fair, it's not like elite goalies grow on trees or are readily available. If you don't draft/develop one you can spend years looking for one.

I know this wasn't the first time.

But there haven't been many.

He did let Allen eat 8 goals against Tampa back in October. I can't remember if that was part of a back to back or not. I don't think it was, but he was asked why he didn't make a goalie change and he said ''It was Marky's night off'' or something.

Luke is playing hurt so I’ll give him a mulligan tonight

We should have pulled Markstrom when we came back to 3-2. I know I’ve said that like five times this season and “it isn’t done” but maybe this time we know Markstrom stripes enough to know when he’s useless in a game…

I left today after 2nd and left some of the first few games of the season early too when they were shit and there was Yankees playoff baseball going on. No regrets on any of these early exits.

Left also after 3rd on the Panthers SO loss but that was mostly due to NJ transit making you wait 45min in the middle of the night if you stay.

Unlucky bounces and goals happen, but the lack of energy and urgency tonight isnt acceptable.

Some of that is on the coach and some of that is on the players. Coach has to make sure everyone is prepared and the players have to realize they just had a high beating the piss out of the Rags in their building. Harder for them to get up for the shittier Bruins granted with the playoff berth being on the line. Devils tend to play up and down to teams with this core, they should be fine v Penguins
