First off it was 12 not 11. Secondly again comparing a 6 to 12? That doesn’t look good for Zacha lol. That is also a lot different fyi. 6 your drafting top line talent. 12 your drafting top 6-9 talent.

sure mike can bust but a 6 busting or a 12 busting? No comparison 6 is worse.
It was #11

The nhl is filled with players like Zacha. Sure he’s got some positives that others don’t and some negatives that others don’t. I’m sure he will have a long nhl career. He’s still a bust. Do you consider Adam larrson a bust?
Adam Larsson is not a bust that's nutty. Disappointing to get a middle pairing guy out of a #4... Absolutely. A bust? Not even the slightest.

And the bar you're setting... we might not have a lot of players that can clear that bar is all I'm going to say.

While he wouldn’t necessarily go as far as to say Ruff is a “player’s coach,” he says his players respect and play hard for him. Considering our compete level was atrocious much of the time under Hynes, hopefully that is reassuring to you. Ruff has a personality that commands respect.

Tbf, Hynes got a lot of respect too, but that "PLAY HARDER, MORE INTENSE" or w/e the f*** his mantra was, for everything probably got old after couple of years.

It has nothing to do with liking or disliking someone. I am sure you would not appreciate it if someone in management make these comments about you in front of everyone where you worked. The comments show an absolute lack of class and someone that cannot control his temper.

eh, I disagree, Zacha did that to himself.

It’s a two way street. You get respect when you give it. Threatening to leave the team for somewhere else as a massive underachieving young prospect? That isn’t going to look well

perfect.

I am waiting to see what Fitzgerald does before I pass judgement. I think we need to see what the philosophy for going forward looks like before we can make any determination.

Whatever he does for the next season can't be enough, he has the money but he can't get rid of Devils players that have to go and buy players he needs. Not in one year.

I honestly would've said the same thing lol. What exactly has Zacha even done? He wouldn't be missed at all.

I think we will be able a good idea of he what he's trying to accomplish pretty quickly. At by the time the next season starts. We are going to see the types of players and style he is looking for and that should give us some idea of what he's trying to achieve.... even if it's not perfect we still will have some indication.

did the devils use the 11th or the 12th pick for him? Simple question with a simple answer. Which on this board means we will never get it

We entered the 2016 draft with the #11 pick. Michael McLeod was the 12th overall pick from the 2016 draft

The puck was #11th.

But let's not get away from the real point... McLeod fits the definition of a "bust" probably better than anyone we've drafted in the last 5 years.

Hopefully he isn't the only one. I can see Ruff being a good coach for a lot of the young guys, even Severson.

Thanks for reminding me about this. Severson regressed super hard under Hynes. He's a guy i'm looking foward to under a different coach. Severson was actually playing quite well until Hynes came along, and then there's the WC where he looked like a completely different player.

he's still technically in the league so he's not an official bust yet

McLeod's production the AHL has actually been pretty decent. This year is likely his last chance to crack it with NJ, but with his skating and pedigree there will certainly be other teams willing to give him a shot. I can see him as one of those guys bouncing around from team to team.
