They probably need to carry the puck in a bit more than they have been doing.

Probably pivoted a bit too hard the other way, dumping it in so often, which works against most teams but I just don't think you can do that over and over against a team like TB and expect to generate a lot.

Met Brenden Dillon at Sports Minded Unlimited today and he’s a gem of a dude. Made my 3.5 year old son’s day offering a fist bump and complimenting his glasses.

Hockey players remain the best. I’m glad I can make these memories with my boys as the years roll on.

I think they will do that once the players really get settled in the system. Everyone is still playing super safe right now.

I see no reason to try 11-7. The D pairings are functioning just fine. I know it would be crazy but the Devils really have no road trips between now and Christmas; I'd like to see them carry 6 D and bring up an extra forward. MacDermid was a defenseman in the early part of his pro career, he can be an emergency D if they need that.

By emergency I meant if e.g. a D got hurt in warmups. With <6 hours notice, the Devils should recall a D even if that takes a lot of their cap space.

Ah, understood. Still think it's a good idea. Even if not ideal (it wouldn't be ideal circumstances to begin with), I'd prefer to have other forward options for the 4th line than what we've been trotting out.

I'd play Casey at 4C. He has to be better than anyone else they have available. Maybe let him play with Foote and Tatar. You don't need MacDermid until maybe Saturday but I'm skeptical that he'd fight Wilson anyway.

really excited to see how they come out of this 5 day off stretch. the last time we had a break to actually practice they got Light years more consistent. i hope we take another step that way.

also interested to see what they do with the 4th line. at some point, they’re gonna need to add if Bastian and Lazar aren’t near return.

Yeah no point now, the time was when Nemec was up. They have their best 6 dmen up right now
