You also called Sanderson turning out the way he did. You saw that a mile away.
I mean, there's a pretty long list, but Sanderson was easy. Kid had everything but gaudy stats, so the only draft analysts who missed on him were people who (foolishly) consider offensive numbers the most important indicator for defense prospects.

I'm more proud of calling it with a fringe guy like Ethan Bear, whom nobody had in their top 100 but I had in the early 2nd round. Sure, he was far from an all-star but it's tougher to identify no-hype, unranked guys who can play 300+ NHL games effectively than it is to say "will Jake Sanderson become a Norris winner or just an all-star defenseman"?

Nemec sent to Utica. Right move, kid needs to play.

We shouldn't be trading him or Casey unless it's heavily in our favor, which i don't think that kind of trade exists.
Devils don't need to be thinking trade yet. Devils are a solid 9-5-2 and playing pretty well, a lot of season ahead and no one is ready to sell just yet so the prices for any roster acquisitions will be high.

At the deadline -- several months away -- I'm certain Fitzgerald will be looking for another top 6 winger and a depth center, but again it's too early to speculate on whom will be available and what the cost will look like.

J.Hughes always had fun and interesting points about the games, but after watching the last post game interview, I get the impression he has matured a lot from last season. He picked some really smart words there.
His interviews when he first started in the league had a hysterical skate board vibe 😎

I know we're doing ok but I still want Dillon-Hamilton to not be a thing.

They should give Dougie a go with Sieges. I think that will work. Problem is Sieges-kovy is basically unbreakable still. Gonna be one of those things Keefe never breaks up until it gets really bad. Probably views it as some magic chemistry.

Because if you are happy, and it goes away, it brings sadness. It's easier to just constantly stay mad all the time. No surprises.
No happy no cry

You are from the land where maybe they didn’t invent vodka but they felt the need to perfect it and you are asking why we can’t just be happy?
But surely we can be happy to participate in the improvement process? Especially when this process is obviously going well and moving in the right direction. I believe people who perfected vodka were pretty happy and passionate about the process, so I feel a kind of emotional and spiritual rapport with them.

“Nemec”, “Casey” and “Trade” shouldn’t be in the same sentence.

Except if that said sentence is “We shouldn’t trade Casey or Nemec”.
Then how do you expect to land Anderson from Montreal? I mean they’ve turned down multiple firsts despite being knee deep in mediocrity and trying to rebuild

great game last night made key saves when they had to be made. the stars played how they should've. will have a lot of games like these with the mid to lower level teams in the league. now i just want to see them come out and play hard against a playoff caliber team. sure the islanders are a playoff caliber team but really want to see how they do against the panthers bolts and hurricanes next week.

one of them should absolutely be available for a trade. what one that is? when would they be? i dunno but its a great problem to have for sure.

off topic but why is the devils rangers game on 12/23 (monday) being played at 1pm?

Devils are in top-10/12 in P%. Why we just can't be happy?
Its good considering they are still feeling out the system. Dec/Jan will be the key months. Those months are the hardest to keep up energy and some of the teams that play a high energy style tend to struggle.

Probably because most schools will be off. Like when we played at 1 on MLK Day.

That's a good point. In general, I would not describe the current devils system as highly energy-intensive. I hope that mutual understanding will increase, and the energy level will not decrease critically.

I think it's something worth considering.

Though as @StevenToddIves says above, it's not something we are going to do in the near term.

Need to see where those guys are, as well as where Dougie and Kova are at years end.

Kova specifically is playing a role very well that neither guy is likely to play in the next couple years.

I mostly agree. I don't think either are completely untouchable, but I'd like to keep both.
