Meh

He should have played tonight if he's playing St. Louis. If there's a rando game to throw him into then it's absolutely tonight.

Here's a random trivia I remember from earlier this year though, the Blues are the only team in the NHL that Blackwood has never played, other than the Devils, who he couldn't have possibly played, as he's never played for an NHL team that wasn't the Devils to have an opportunity to play against the Devils.
My guess is maybe they don’t want too many days in between games for VV .While he is hot, dont let him sit too long between starts. When I played goal and was playing well , if I say for too long you somewhat lose some of your mojo.
I get what you are saying though. Playing against a shit Jackets team looks like a perfect time to give to MB amd go back to VV for a longer stretch against better teams.

I’m not sure patience is the right word to describe Shero. The Hall trade (while a good one), was not a trade made out a patience. Ot was a trade that was made to try and speed things up. It came out of a compete misjudgment on how far away the team was and as a result we basically had an elite player for 3 1/2 years and completely wasted him only to have to turn around flip him because he didn’t want to stay.

Trading a 2nd round pick for a Mirco Mueller who couldn’t crack the NHL in his other stop wasn’t a patience move. Even the Palmieri deal was a try and speed things up move at the beginning.

The only time he was “patient” was when they stood Pat after the playoff year.
Fair points, but when I say patient, I mean he didn't make BIG moves like Dougie Hamilton, Timo Meier, Palat, really any big UFA signings at all, other than 3 years of Lovejoy and John Moore and Wayne Simmonds on a one year deal. Brian Boyle for 2 years wasn't really a big UFA signing.

Hall was a big acquisition of course, but the price to get him was nothing. Let's be honest here, Adam Larsson has been very underwhelming for what was expected when he was drafted. You trade Taylor Hall for him any time you can.

The post that I believe I made the ''Patient'' remark in regards to, I believe was about how Fitz needs to be more patient than spending big assets on Timo Meier or somebody like that.

In that case I would just play him in both of these games.

Blackwood is playing in one of the next 2 or 3 games after this, so I see no need to play him Thursday if we're not playing him tonight.

Don't you eviscerate players on a daily basis? There's been at least a half dozen Pandoldfo rants this week and it's only Tuesday.

Not to mention White before that, Blackwood is a mainstay for you but so was Steve Bernier which I believe the term space junk was coined, little Gio,
Zubrus at a time, various other 4th liners/career AHLers

You just do the guys that are safe to eviscerate without too much push back. It's not really different.
It’s funny when Bleed does it so it’s different (for me, but that’s the only person I can speak for.)

I haven't seen it yet but heard its good.
It’s very good, it’s a particular style of humour, but it’s one of my favorites lol. It’s always a quick watch. S1 is 8 episodes of 10-15 minutes.

The @Bleedred outbursts are moments of pure joy. I don’t agree with some of them but like your use of thinly veiled profanity they brighten my day and get me to smile when I’m uptight about some stupid lawyer thing.

What the Palat signing prevents us from doing is taking advantage of the next Buchnevich/Bjorkstrand type trade. Teams that are not capped out often come out way ahead on trades.

You think Palat is worth it; that’s fine, I just disagree.
We waited around for like seven years and had exactly one of those trades fall in our lap (Hall) and pretty much wasted half a decade, hoping that both a team gives away a top player and that you can be the ones to take advantage of it isn’t a solid strategy, it’s wishful thinking.

I see a lot of people think I’m just trolling so I’ll probably leave the thread now as that’s never my intention.

But I think we got a lot of good trades because of cap position. Palmieri, Johansson, Marino, Vanacek, Graves, etc.

FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK
Oh, I got a f***in LOUD cannon that should piss the lurkers off.

They had such a problem with me shit talking their team in 2016.

I don't really lurk other boards, unless I wanna read their opinion on a player I'm wondering about. I've been reading the Wild GDT's a lot to see if they're trashing MAF and not many people seem to have a problem with him. There is no resident Bleedred on the Wild forum lambasting Evason for making Fleury happen.

Anyway, people came to tell me how popular I was over there after a couple of the Devils/Jackets games in 2016 or so. So I took a gander. I didn't respond over there.

f*** their stupid f***in team.

I'd almost be okay with them beating us tonight if this was the one win that cost them Bedard when the lottery happens.

But f***, I HATE this f***in team more than almost anybody outside of the main rivals and Islanders (who aren't considered a main rival), so I wanna f***in beat the shit out of them like we did the first time and like almost everybody else has been doing to them all year long.

Umm...It's not. we literally see one or two of these "pretty good player cap dumped for peanuts" trades every offseason. It's about having the cap space and assets to capitalize on them.

I mean, NJ literally just did this acquiring Marino. They traded a 3rd and guy who isn't going to be more than a bottom-pair defenseman to get a much-needed, top-pair quality, defensive RHD.

I didn't like the Palat signing either because it limits their short-term and long-term flexibility (i.e. makes fitting in Meier + Bratt long-term tougher). Not that I don't think he's a useful player now.

We kind of took advantage of it with Siegs and Marino. And having the cap space allowed us to sign Dougie.

That said we are past the point of hoarding cap space. Fitz originally said that Jack/Nico would let the team know when it is time to go for it. Well it is time to go for stuff.
