I never said anything about her not working for the team. But her strong, independent self-proclaimed persona is compromised by those she collects her paycheck from. She's a contradiction of herself.

Yeah, we probably won't beat them, but I can imagine how annoying it will be if we somehow beat both Pittsburgh and then them. Us going into that game against Ottawa will just feel like a normal team going into a game against an actual super tough opponent with a near perfect home record.

Honestly, Amanda gets too much shit from the fanbase and has since she came in.
I have no strong opinion on her one way or the other, but people have been kind of nasty to her since she came here and have taken personal shots at her that are mean and not at all relevant to her job as one of the team reporters. I don't mean just on this forum, but all over the internet.
I've criticized some of her work before, but I also don't think she's terrible.
I've also taken issue with some of those dudes that they have working for us that were hosting those ''Intermission shows'' during camp scrimmages and preseason games that are streamed by the team. The one guy I haven't seen in a while. The other is Sam Kasan. His work as the Matt Loughlin fill in on radio PBP when Matt was the TV fill in for Erika when she was on maternity leave was unforgivably bad. Sounded like a David Puddy impersonator while calling the game. Soooo cringy. Matt is getting up there in age, although Chico is working with him and he must have about 10 years on him. So I'm not sure how much longer he's gonna be doing this, but the radio broadcasts will be beyond unlistenable if he's ever a permanent replacement to do radio PBP. Maybe he was just an easy in house fill in for the time.
At that point you may as well combined the radio feed into the TV feed like several teams have already done.
I think the other guy is Chris Wescott? I don't even know if he's still with the team this year, but he was last year. Maybe he's more of a behind the scenes guy now, I'm not sure.

Went to see the Islanders farm team in Bridgeport play the Panthers farm team (Charlotte Checkers).
The Bridgeport Islanders team has Devils legends' Seth Helgeson, Ken Appleby & Tyce Thompson.
The Islanders won in overtime 1 to 0. Appleby had a 36 save shutout and a secondary assist on the overtime goal. Maybe we should of kept him around

Kasan is only worse when he does tweet as coming off as a tone deaf yes man.
Also if people want to get mad at team media, the MSG crew are way worse with being wildly out of touch. Dano and even Sal have said some wacky stuff to justify some of our play.

Good morning, I remember he fought Granlund either last season or seasons before. I didn’t like the comment from him and the “how often does he have to fight to win your heart” feels like I’m about to get posterized.

It’s the trials and tribulations of this season plus what he said that really angered me. Remember, Nico has been to the playoffs twice in his career. “Certain teams” is a stretch when we’ve been “certain teams” for most of his career.
They’re “certain teams” only when you lose to them, though. If you win, they don’t even ask you how it feels to beat “certain teams”? The lead question might be, “so tell us what went right?” SMH

People struggle with the reality that she is a mouthpiece for the team and NOT an actual reporter. She's nothing more than a press release with a face. I think she does a good job at her job though and she seems personable and has a good relationship with the players. Once people actually stop expecting some in depth analysis or her to break a story, everyone's life will be a smidge easier.

This is ignoring his basic point. You can just listen to what he’s saying.
It’s pretty simple.
It’s been discussed here and in the media that we left a lot of points on the table in games against teams that are bottom feeders this season.
This looks and feels bad since these are in theory winnable games, or at least loser point territory.
It’s just an observation about that phenomenon.
The Sabres aren’t the worst example of this phenomenon, they’re very talented and getting closer but a mess.
His comment is more about how our four last losses includes three to Arizona, Ottawa and Buffalo, all in regulation. (And we have two regulation losses to Ducks, 1 point in two games vs Arizona, etc.)
The fact that we were a bottom feeder before doesn’t change the fact that we aren’t now. He’s complaining about the team not winning the games they need. People are complaining about this so him criticizing the team, which includes himself, is fine.
Feels like your anger about the trials and tribulations of the season are causing you to be weird about a pretty straightforward brief comment.
And just to be clear on my position, I generally always defend players when a fan freaks out over a comment. Pretty much every time it’s a fan projecting a lot of stuff into not very meaningful comments.
That’s also why I believe players are arguably better sharing nothing but safe empty sports cliches that can’t be misinterpreted. Fans flip out over random innocuous stuff, they’re better off not trying to say anything. It’s what we deserve.

I prefer to upgrade Bahl. It’s better to have Siegs as third pair defenseman. Having Bahl and new 2LD could be the same situation as it is this season.
