So you're annoyed she's doing her job? I get people are frustrated but not everybody has to be miserable because we are.

As disappointing as this season has been I've stopped caring long ago lol. The team doesn't have it so I'm not going to waste my time being bothered

Seeing teams like the Flyers, Capitals and Red Wings all either being in the playoffs right now or just outside of them gives me tremendous hope that we could be good again next year.

Those teams are all worse than us, especially the roster we opened the season with.

I don't think expect all of those teams to be as competitive next year. Maybe 1-2 of them will be.

Now they could always be replaced by others teams that weren't good this year, like Buffalo and maybe less likely Ottawa. One of these years Boston could plummet enough to fall out, which they've been showing signs of this year, getting by on loser points and two starting goalies. Next year they won't have two starting goalies.

The differences vs. anyone except a couple of the bottom and top teams are very small.

There have been plenty of other times I'm sure they've had these "contests" during the season.

Yet she picks NOW after a brutal loss (that all but knocked us officially out of the playoff race) where many of us are peeved, to put that up.

And I don't mean the vid of the laps....I mean her Zippety-do-dah-Zippety-Yay comment.
 
This team isn't losing because of goalies at all. If Fitz will just find new goalie, it does mean he is trying to just bring the guilt on the goalie shoulders. Its not about goalies only. VV and Schmid were the worst goalie duo, but they overcomed it. They didn't in the second half and in February and March especially, when their goaltending was better or was not a problem at all. After the trade deadline goalies are making everything they can. This team doesn't need in great goalies, they need average to good goalies. But even Saros and Ullmark will not fix our current problem. They will not score goals and they will not let HDCA stop to happen. Devils should invest money in 2LD, 3C and more forechecking wingers. If Fitz will just trade depth for a very good goalie, he just will make our problems even worser.
So no. Devils don't need 1A goalie and coaching. They need to find average to good goalie, new coaching stuff and work a lot on depth. A lot. Save money and assets to make this team much depthier.
Because trading Mercer and first for Saros and change coach will make this team only worser.

He definitely disrespected Buffalo when we aren’t much better, at least this season and they definitely have some real good talent up front and on defense.

Why anyone cares that he said “certain teams” is beyond me given it’s absolutely right with how they’ve performed all year and it’s glaringly obvious. Nico said exactly what needed to be said and i wish more players in the locker room or either coach did too.

It's been an issue all season that they not only no-show against teams below them in the standings, they actively implode in those games.

It's past the point where it can be fixed this year, but the players who will be here next year need to look in the mirrors this summer and figure out why most of them seemed incapable of handling business against teams lower in the standings, and why they never seem to show up for games with big repercussions for them in the standings.

I agree, it's combination of the things, but mostly defensive issues since the goals for is still good.

On the other hand Goals Against going from 2.71 (8th best) to 3.39 (6th worst) is unbelievably bad. Boston hasn't had that big of a change in a decade that Devils had between this and last year.

The overall coverage around the team that's run by the team is a bit tone deaf, but that's something the people above Amanda are doing. She is reporting what she is told to report.

The coaches treating them with kid gloves is another issue and we know it won't be resolved until everyone is fired and hopefully Fitz realizes it can't be a country club in there again.

The reality is that they've probably been treated with kid gloves for the most part by this staff from Lindy until now, and the bad habits are unfortunately a component that won't be eliminated until we get to next season with a new coach.

The sooner we get to the offseason is probably for the best.

He’ll be fine. Smaller/Similar sized players have done fine. He’s still young and learning to navigate throughout physicality. Also, his main injury this year was an unlucky one in the boards. The off-season will do wonders for him.

Amanda is a joke. If she had any conviction being the type of individual she claims to be, she'd call the team out on this instead of following how and what she's told to report.
