I think Green stays. Who else is there?

Unless Sullivan leaves Pitt. But, Sullivan's extension kicks in next year, so either he or the Pens have to walk away from a lot of money.

(I actually would support Julien here, but I can't see how that happens.)
There will be plenty of alternatives but I agree there’s a good chance Fitz will go with his colleague and the present interim, especially if we continue to play well down the stretch. It’s probably not the best alternative but in deciding that, you need to weigh him against definite alternative names. It’s beyond my bandwidth to figure out.

Like “goalies who stop pucks,” I like “coaches who win games.”

Ottawa has zero reason to trade Tkachuk and they won’t this off-season.

I doubt Crouse get moved either, and what are you imagining they trading him for here? Draft picks and prospects? They don’t really need more of those.

Edit: It’s tough to find physical wingers who produce, I get that you’re just trying to find solutions.

Unfortunately the options are more giving UFAs like Trenin a generous offer or finding a less sexy trade option.

His time has come....

I'm of the opinion that if Sullivan gets fired, he's the next hire.

Beyond that though, I will believe that this is Green's job until they hire someone else.

They have not played good hockey under Green. Goaltending and the top guys have bailed them out of some games with individual efforts.

That clown needs to be out the door
Agreed. These Green supporters are so shell-shocked from losing under Ruff that a few measly wins under Green has them foaming at the mouth to keep him on board. We have such a talented roster that any coach can get some wins. We need a coach who will elevate this roster. Green doesn't do that. Look at a coach like Torts who makes his whole team better than it should be. We need a coach who can do the same for us.

There are Green supporters? Show me. I don’t see any on here. If there are it is the extreme minority. 99% of folks on here only want him as interim.

And yeah, the bottom 6 sucks, the D has no depth and relies on rookies. Our star is hobbled. We all know that and get it . That will all be improved upon in the offseason.

This team is finding a scrappy element to their game based on the new goaltending. I will root for them down the stretch. Making a surprise entrance into the playoffs would be exciting, even if they get bounced in round 1. Playoff experience is always important. Fighting down the stretch to close out the season is also important.

Its debatable if they found a scrappy element because while you got a game like tonight, you also got no show games like Ottawa, Arizona, and Vegas.

The invidual performances from Nico, Bratt, and especially Timo are good signs for next year. Allen has also shown he could be part of the solution in net which is a positive

But there isn't any evidence Green can get this team on an actual sustained winning streak.

Results wise the team is exactly where it was when Ruff was still here. Wildly inconsistent.

Not debatable. They are finding ways to win in this last stretch in some games they were outplayed , like Dallas and tonight (fyi they didn’t get outplayed vs Pitt Wpg NYI) . It’s nice to see. Hasn’t happened all season when it’s been the opposite with outplaying teams then losing due to a brainfart or bad goaltending. Jack and others literally are on record saying they are energized by the timely saves

And who here is campaigning on Green being the reason for getting a nice streak together? You are dooming to a brick wall currently, just to doom. There is literally no one here talking up Green.

Its due to be frank. Every team, no matter how good or bad goes through a stretch like that in a season. We haven’t yet
Isn't the best way to "out perform" the overall stats, is to have your stars carry a mediocre team for a short period? Would be very cool if the big 4 up front managed that, while Luke dominates from the blue line, all while being aptly supported by the new 2 goalies.

Becomes a nice clear spine of the team for Fitz to build around for next season.

Alright folks, laugh all you want, but it’s still possible.

IF, big if, If Detroit keeps losing. Devils need to be within 4 pts of Flyers with two gms left and they have a chance

The Flyers' remaining draw is so annoyingly cushy though it makes catching them prohibitive.

The Caps & Wings however have altogether more on their plates.

How did we find a competent third line with less than month to go in the season? Why did Palat-Nosek-Mercer take so long

I think Nosek is finally healthy after his two different early season injuries (foot then concussion)

Shame it came so late. Maybe Nosek would have been really helpful without that injury riddled start.

He was in a walking boot after the 2nd or 3rd game I think.was playing through it and then got blasted by Trouba to planet mars soon after.

I know the Devils’ Playoff chances jumped to almost 15% after the win, but Green can’t be the coach next season.

6-6 and at least 2 of those wins, the Devils were caved. Dallas and Toronto standout. There are probably more. The losses are woof. Arizona and Ottawa games standout. When the Devils lose its rarely a close game. Can the Devils get some loser point instead if sulking?
