Dano Meme'd after one post. That has to be a record.
Yeay - Cute story - 30 points - Not what we needed.
Look, I would LOVE to play for the Devils too. Doesn't mean I should.
I'm sort of crapping on this move but he could do some damage, I guess. I just expect to be Haula-Level frustrated with 2 guys this year just like I was last year (Tatar in for Smith)

I think we could roll 3 and have a goon 4th and still be OK, as long as the 3rd line is strong enough. Big problem last year was for much of the season our 3rd line was a bad 4th line. I think if we can roll a strong top 9, we can still be successful even with a limited toi 4th line.In all seriousness though, improving the depth should greatly improve the forward group. We are at our best when we can roll 4 lines and none of them are a major negative.
We had wayyyy too many games last year where we had to short the bench because too many players couldn't be trusted to take a regular shift when something was on the line, although a big part of that is score effect.
I don't want to see Jack getting like 8 minutes in the 3rd period because half the roster can't pull their weight. Guys like Noesen, Tatar, and Cotter should all help with that.
I know some Toronto fans have said Keefe has a thing for Kampf so that might be realistic. I struggle to see the team adding another McLeod but maybe I’m being harsh.4C is a need:
My targets:
Jake Evans (1 year 1.7 mill), Nico Sturm (1 year 2 mill), Ryan Mcleod (1 year 2.1 mill+RFA control), Lars Eller (1 year 2.45 mill), David Kampf (3 years 2.4 mill), Peyton Krebs (1 year 900k+RFA control).
In terms of longer term I might even target some C prospects, where we are very barren.
This I'm less familiar with but I like Beck in MTL and Wahlberg in Buffalo.
What are the rest of our thoughts? Any targets I'm missing (especially prospects).
I 100% see what you mean about Mcleod.I know some Toronto fans have said Keefe has a thing for Kampf so that might be realistic. I struggle to see the team adding another McLeod but maybe I’m being harsh.
The flipside of potentially trading Casey, is keeping him and trading Nemec.I agree that I still see one more splash by Fitz before camp
Is there even room for another add?4C is a need:

I think that's way over-valuing Brady. The flipside of potentially trading Casey, is keeping him and trading Nemec.
How bonkers would this board get if Fitz traded Nemec for Brady Tkachuk?
I know that's one of those rumors that doesn't get much traction on this board, and the outlets where it does get traction do tend to be of the extreme loudmouth variety , but it does make sense. If Ottawa has a bad season, then I could see Tkachuk making a stink, and forcing Ottawa's hand. There is no player that fits the mold Fitz has tried to build this team into more then Tkachuk. Watching M Tkachuk win a cup probably makes this more enticing to Fitz. There is also the whole Brady Girlfriend/house on the Shore aspect as well as the US factor, ie having Brady and the Hughes brothers starring in the next couple Olympics bringing one heck of a national spotlight on the team. I think that is something ticket sellers could work with, not just for the regular fans, but the big money/corporate buyers as well.

Is it? 100 goals the last 3 years. Big and physical. Doesn't miss games. 25 years old. Signed for 3 years beyond this upcoming season.I think that's way over-valuing Brady.
i definitely don’t remember hearing anything about Legace being hired, i would’ve come straight here to post about it lol.So I came across something that either hasn’t been formally announced or was only a very quiet addition and won’t be announced.
But Manny Legace is now listed on the Devils website as head amateur goalie scout/development coach. Not sure how new this is, as he’s not listed as working anywhere in 23-24 on elite prospects, but last worked as the goalie coach for the Blue Jackets in 22-23.
I’m starting to remember maybe this was something we discussed months ago? Or maybe I’m just imagining that now after the fact that I saw him in the team directory?
I’m not sure who had this role before he did or if it’s a new position.
At the same time he broken 1ppg only once, and that was an 83 points in 82 games. Similar (but slightly better) stats to Meier. Is it? 100 goals the last 3 years. Big and physical. Doesn't miss games. 25 years old. Signed for 3 years beyond this upcoming season.

Matthew Tkachuk is a 100 point type, 40 goal caliber, excellent defensive player. The flipside of potentially trading Casey, is keeping him and trading Nemec.

Abandoned Peter. Hopefully for not too long. Keep your chin up.I’m following the fringe signings way too closely, unfortunately.
Centers still available (like it matters lol)
Riley Damiani 24 C
Rourke Chartier 28 C
Peter Abbandonato 26 C
Frederik Olofsson 28 C/LW {Veteran >320 GP}
Oskar Steen 26 C/RW {Veteran >320 GP}
One other thing I find interesting, though I’m pretty sure it’s been this way for the 9 years he’s been working here. I don’t even see Scott Clemmensen’s name listed in the directory on the official team site as a team employee of any kind.i definitely don’t remember hearing anything about Legace being hired, i would’ve come straight here to post about it lol.
Interesting that it hasn’t really been touched on by any of our newer, snoopier media. I wonder how recently the site was changed.

Matt didn't crack 40 goals or 100 points till his 6th season in the league. Prior to that his career high was 34 goals and 77 points. Levels Brady has already eclipsed.Matthew Tkachuk is a 100 point type, 40 goal caliber, excellent defensive player.
Brady Tkachuk is a 80 point type, 35 goal caliber, poor defensive player.
Brady Tkachuk is much closer to Timo Meier than he is Matthew Tkachuk.
Except we saw very little of Lazar as a center last year.Beside as someone else mention we have Lazar and I think the Devils are perfectly fine with him as the 4C.
Problem is we have no one behind him. We REALLY need to sign an AHL-NHL tweener or two we can call up in case of emergencies. I have no confidence in who we have in Utica right now, and anyway, they could use a decent center down there.Beside as someone else mention we have Lazar and I think the Devils are perfectly fine with him as the 4C.
