Yup...just may be a way to get around the veteran rule for preseason games, though I'm not sure how much that will even be enforced since the main team will be taking off for Prague halfway through the preseason.

We are more than set with Daws / Poulter in Utica. Guessing it's Brennan / Brodeur down in Adirondack?

Zboril seems to fit this as well. The Devils do not seem to need a left shot D in NJ or Utica. Though, maybe Zboril could work out as a Veteran Exempt guy in Utica? @Bad Goalie probably has the best read on that.

Zboril seems to fit this as well. The Devils do not seem to need a left shot D in NJ or Utica. Though, maybe Zboril could work out as a Veteran Exempt guy in Utica? @Bad Goalie probably has the best read on that.

Yeah, most likely just another body for the preseason though maybe he could be insurance if Hatakka gets claimed on waivers.

Hutchinson is just insurance for the top 2 goalies and a guy who can count as a veteran. I don't think they want Daws in the NHL if they can help it.

He's 34

But he's been one of the more journeyman third string goalies for years now. He seemed to come and go from Toronto more than once, after being a once highly touted goalie prospect for Winnipeg and even having a pretty solid rookie season a decade ago.

His only NHL game last year was against us with Detroit lol.

He doesn’t even meet the veteran rule for preseason games. That’s 30 nhl games last season or 100 career. He had 0 last season and 76 career.

Oh sorry I got replies crossed up with the Zboril PTO. It’s Zboril who has only 76 career gp and needs 100 to be a preseason vet.

Hutch has 154. Maybe we can dress him as a skater and Zboril as a goalie! then they’d both meet vet minimums.

I don't think Fitz is much of a stage manager. My guess is they have PR and legal people to advise on those sorts of things.

Although I wonder if this was more on Ownership than Fitz in hurrying his "promotion" (or whatever that was) up so he wouldn't have to answer questions on McLeod....

9/22: NYI - Markstrom + Daws (Markstrom 'debuts' at home)
9/24: @ MON - Allen + Hutchinson (Allen starts against old team, Hutchinson saves a different vet from making the round trip flight)
9/25: WSH - Markstrom + Daws
9/27: @ NYI - Allen + Hutchinson
9/29: NYR - Markstrom + Daws (most of the opening night roster in that night?)

(A-team heads to Europe?)

10/1: @ NYR - Daws + Poulter (Utica guys probably thrown to the wolves)
10/3: @ PHI - Hutchinson + Poulter

Senyshyn played 37 games for the Comets in '22-23 and then was traded to Belleville.
He played in the DEL last season.

With his 18 games in Czechia's top, league his number is 322 GP and that would make him an AHL veteran.

If the Comets get another veteran, he damned well better be a center!
