Here's two more Sports Forecaster player write ups that I think people here will get a kick out of:

I could see Dano playing a zany, perhaps goofy, character in a sitcom
My vote is for My Two Danos.

When Marcy Bradford dies, she leaves her teenage son Jack Hughes in the custody of two ex-boyfriends - Daneyko a straight-laced and formal man, and Dano a wild artist.

What’s best is with today’s technology and Kens range, he can play both roles.

Who else would have thought of this idea? And @Nubmer6 wouldn't put you in the final prospect poll? Shame on him. Next season's poll has to correct this travesty of a mockery of a miscarriage of justice!

The Rangers are a real wild card. They still have top tier goaltending and probably very good special teams. If they can just tread water at even strength they could be very good this year. I could see any of thr older teams breaking down and I guess with Backstrom hurting the Caps are the early favorite to regress? They also replaced both goalies which may or may not work.
Think Shestyerkin, much like Lundqvist, masks a lot of their shortcomings.

As with Lundqvist, they will occasionally steal series but team still seems very ordinary.

Hard to imagine players like Kreider putting up numbers like that consistently.

Taylor Hall has been a bit underrated throughout his career, but I think that one person just made up for it (Market correction LOL) with that generous ''Forecast''.

Not that 77 points in 82 games this year would be the most shocking result for Taylor Hall, but it's also not a result to really bet a whole lot of money on. That's for sure.

63 points in 77 games would still be a pretty good season for Bratt.

Idk how you can compare folding napkins nicely to winning a face off. Idc what the stats say. Winning face offs are important. This is a game that relies upon puck possession. Winning faceoffs gets you the puck. Especially in key moments like on the PP, PK, or down by a goal with not much time left. In those situations a faceoff can make or break your game. It's even more true for a team like NJ where we completely rely on transition offense & lack the players to go into the dirty areas to retrieve pucks.

How can you refute this type of argument?

And "winning" a faceoff doesnt always guarantee possession...thats the thing.

Like I said previously, there are definitely some points in the game where there is a critical faceoff that you'd like to win. However, on average overall, they are not very important to the overall outcome of a game or season and I would never base roster decisions on them.

This^.

Not EVERY faceoff is important. But overall, faceoffs are a big facet of the game.

there’s probably 1 goal every 2-3 games that comes directly from possession off of winning a draw. most goals are scored off the rush or due to sustained pressure. you nerds

yeah i would love some actual stats on how many goals are scored on a play where there is not a single change of possession.

take special teams out of it and i’d bet the number is impressively small compared to how many face offs are taken

Or the Devils special last year, win the draw into your defensive corner, have the wingers both leave the zone, make the weak side defense and and center stand next to each other, and turn the puck over to a 2 man forecheck with all 5 Devils in a bad defensive posture.

Meh. There's always a hot take on this board, and really every other board on the internet, that goes against the accepted consensus on something seemingly important. That's the internet and the democratization of information. Don't stress out over it. Eventually the hottest of takes get buried under mountains of evidence and we've seen that happen here too. Let people have their jollies and keep it movin. Season's almost here.

New Dano face just dropped @NjDevsRR

Also an article that might be interesting, haven't read it yet though lol

Good article - interesting that they had the final 6 candidates come in and call a game with Dano.

The process involved a plethora of candidates, looking to become the voice of the Devils. Some Daneyko knew, others, like the man who secured the job, he didn't. The audition process had been narrowed down to roughly six candidates when Daneyko was brought it. Together, they would call a Devils game from the 2021-22 season, three periods, including an overtime winner.

"I wanted [MSG Networks] to get the right guy first and foremost," Daneyko recalls of the process. "Like it's not easy when you're doing auditions in the summer of a game you already called for me to get fired up. But everybody knows I'm pretty intense. So, I was really fired up like I was at the game. I wanted to make sure I gave [the candidates] the best opportunity not just to go through the motions. But this is one of the 32 jobs, dream jobs, a dream job for a lot of these guys."
