This is one of those situations where a good player is trying to get some money and the team wants to limit the money a bit so they can build a deeper team

I asked my wife if we can go for Korean fried chicken earlier and she made me a chicken breast salad and said "I don't think you need fried chicken".

I was crushed.
My ex-wife’s favourite move regarding meal time piss offs - List off 4-5 restaurants that we should go to. Get me all pumped to go to one of the listed ones , and she says no to each and every one and “suggests” one that wasn’t even listed (her favourite that she knows I disliked ). She would always do that shit lol.
”What movie would you like to watch ? Joker or Dr.Strange?
Me - Oh !? Umm Joker .
Her - umm ya dont really feel like watching that one.
Me - Ok ! Dr.Strange it is !
Her - Yaaaa not really feeling in the superhero movie mood , how about we go for walk?
Me- Ya no.

If Fitz lets this go to a hearing it absolutely means that Bratt wants two years to get to UFA and the team is just saying FU take a low-ball arbitration award.

It makes no sense why we wouldn't just give him a one year deal at his ask to save the relationship otherwise.

He bet on himself last time seems like he's gonna do it again, dude wants to get PAID in two yrs when the cap balloons. If we do keep him and not trade him before the season at least we'll get a hyper motivated player in a contract year again.

This, not sure why a one year deal is a bad thing for the team. Either he plays well, and we offer him a better contract next year, or he regresses, and we don’t. Both are good for the devils.

It’s not a long term discount, which we would have loved, but it’s not bad.

Nothing on the Bratt front.

F*** You, Fitz.

That is all.
Bratt is all tucked into bed (wearing his Rangers Pj’s with Rangers sheets / pillows) .
Its all coming to plan for him muuuuhhhh hahnahahahhanahahaha !
Soon ! Soon enough I will be home at MSG !

I think it’s the shits and would appear he wants out ASAP or at the very least hit UFA as soon as he can ? Maybbbbe he just wants to net in himself and wait for an even bigger payday but at the point , I feel that we almost need to cut bait or risk losing him for nothing ,which would not be good.At all. Not even a little bit.

oh cmon, you dont really mean that
You're right.

I wouldn't want anyone to F*** Fitz.

Have you taken a good look at him lately? :sarcasm:

But seriously....Yes, I do mean it.

If we end up losing Bratt in the end, I blame him for it.

We would be losing a KEY member of the team and while we have some good prospects, none of them will be as dynamic as Bratt.

This whole situation sucks.

But he’s still RFA for two years, and can’t suffer a dip in play or he really wont get the contract he wants.

He’s gonna have to play his ass off in a devil jersey at least thru this season if he wants to get paid.

Plus, a lot can change in a year, with more cap room next year, and less leverage, we could make the offer he wants. If he puts up 100 points this season, I’d be happy to give him 9+ next year. If the team does well to boot, he may even want to stay.

This is so shit. Agree to a deal already. Arbitration means we lose Bratt.

We've developed two elite players in the last 15 years and we're penny and diming one. Just do it you miserable f***s.

This is so gonna end in Arbitration.

I am not going to forgive Fitz for this sh*t.
Ridiculous to blame anyone when you aren’t privy to the conversations or negotiations. Who knows what the offers have been or who’s truly to blame.

At the end of the day, every player has a price and if they demand more than that price, the team should move on. None of us know where this one falls.

Two things

First - the phrase is to nickel and dime someone

Second- NJ did not develop Ben Lovejoy
