The question I ask regarding Lebanc is, who is our 13th forward? Foote? MacDermid? Halonen? Is Lebanc a better 13th forward than these players?
It depends on who gets hurt to be replaced.

If we need to fill a scoring role, Labanc is probably the better bet.

If we need to replace a bastian, or a lazar, or a cotter, or a haula, or a palat, etc then you do not want Labanc

I’m surprised that Pesce didn’t go on the trip if he really is that close. Even if he wasn’t gonna play.

I figured he’d wanna go on the trip just to see Prague with the boys.

But maybe he has no desire to go if he’s not playing, and would rather stay home with his family and sleep in his own bed for that entire week.

I assumed that Luke may have even been on the trip, just for the experience, despite not being nearly ready.

They said there won’t be much practice time over there so it made sense to keep Pesce back here where he’d get more reps

Seeing the constant misspelling of his name actually fooled me into thinking that I may have been spelling his name wrong all along now for as many years as he’s been playing in the league.

I’ll be so mad if this is the end of the road for Bastian. Rempe ended his career then, can’t let that happen.
He's already played a couple of preseason games. Didn't he practice today?

I don't think this is the end of the road for him. But he's been very injury riddled for the last 2 years, and that's not all to do with Rempe.

“New Jersey has made the following transactions:

  • Igor Mburanumwe and Landon Sim have been released from their amateur tryouts.
  • Andre Ghantous, Kevin O’Neil, Jace Isley, and Tag Bertuzzi are re-assigned to the Utica Comets (AHL) training camp.
  • Dylan Wendt and Tyler Brennan have been loaned to Utica”

Thanx for this.
Here we go.
Nothing unexpected here.

I mean Rempe crushed Siegs when MacDermid was literally on the ice
MacDermid hadn’t confronted him yet. Thr next game they fought off thr opening draw and Rempe got thrown out. That’s the play. MacDermid needs to try to fight Rempe immediate every game. If they aren’t thrown out he needs to fight him the very next shift.

You should've added a completely made-up name in there to see if anybody would've noticed.

Or maybe you did...

My money is on Kevin O'Neil.

Nope, he had been signed to a 1-yr 1-way AHL contract August 1. He will be 3rd yr pro having previously played with ECHL South Carolina both of those seasons with loans to AHL Hershey of 6 games and 3 with AHL Colorado.

I'm warily of the belief he will be assigned to Adirondack. This is the kind of guy NJ Senior Vice President, Utica Comets GM signs every off season. Rarely a player who can make an actual contribution to the Comets.

All I know is, from private sources. Dano is relieved that Mburanumwe did not make the roster.
LOL. That would have led to a marble mouthed pronunciation for a host of AHL PBP announcers.

Screw fighting. The only way to deter Rempe is to bash Lafreniere head into the glass. Rempe will avoid show fights and take runs at Nico and Jack allllll day long. McD may respond to an incident but by that point the damage is done. It's asymmetrical now. Look at Pare and Laine. There is no fear with instigators.

If the league and refs don't protect the players...and they could give two craps...you need a psycho. @My3Sons has shown us the way.

MacDermjd isn’t a sociopath. I don’t think he gets it. My thought is if they are only going to fight then at least do it immediately before Rempe has a chance to cheap shot anyone.

You don't deter these players. The only reason they have NHL jobs is because they do big hits and fight. Rempe will take runs at top players every game, otherwise he's back in the AHL/ECHL. He'll continue to take runs at those players even if Lafreniere is forced to retire from a hit because its not about keeping players honest, its about keeping a job.

So the lines theyre practicing with for opening day are the same ones they played with and have been practicing with, weird; who could have seen this coming

I sure hope the Tatar-Hischier-Mercer line carries the way people expect, because that second line of Meier-Hughes-Bratt will not work

How they fix that well see - if we go for the easy solution, you put Meier with Hischier and Mercer with Hughes.

But its funny that a new coach who hasnt had these players yet is stern with using a line from two years ago under a different coach; its almost like he is being recommended this line and is trying it first, perhaps?

Im sure Sheldon Keefe's first thought was 'yes, let me put Tomas Tatar and Dawson Mercer on the same line as my Selke-candidate'

The only way to deter these players falls on the refs and on the league. Instead of giving game misconducts, they should be handing out 5 minute majors. If these types of players consistently lost games for their teams because of their antics, fans and teammates would quickly turn on them.

You know this based on what, exactly? The extensive history of that line playing together?

oh, wait
