There are so many spelling and grammatical errors in that article. Yikes, do some basic editing.

It's not even a thing anymore. It's never been easier with the advent of spell check and even grammar checks to make sure your article is written in a professional manner. Yet these articles consistently look like no effort was put in and the writer had no pride in what they were doing.

I treat it as background noise essentially, but because I have the Devils saved as a favorite team on my Hulu/ESPN+ feed, I have the ability to rewatch many of the games from last season with Bill and Dano. So that's a nice way to entertain myself in the summer working from home.

I'm currently running our first throttling of Columbus from around Halloween.

i didn’t actually read it until after i posted here but yeah it’s a terrible article.

Also puts Meier and Mercer on the wrong wings, brings up Foote and Thompson as solutions at 3RW… reads like a below average HF post. :sarcasm:

Well Wood and Boq were probably top 5 on the team in terms of pure speed up ice.

And we've replaced them with Taffoli and maybe Foote or Nosek. All of whom are below average skaters(or so seems to be the scouting report). If Holtz cracks the lineup, then even more so.

Now team identity can be a nebulous thing. A fast team can still have physical players, and a physical team can still try to play fast, at least at times. But, contrary to the tweet, I thought we did have an identity last year, and I think we gave some of that up heading into next year, in favor of something different.
As long as we have two Hughes brothers, Bratt, Hischier, Mercer, and at least a couple of depth pieces that can skate like McLeod and even Haula to an extent, our team identity is going to remain fast and smooth skaters.

I do worry that the overall effectiveness of the bottom lines might be hampered with regard to our defensive system, but that may end up not mattering too much. Nosek is elite at getting the puck out of the zone so it's hard to say a line with him on it got worse defensively.

The 3rd line is probably where we might see this the most. If it ends up being Palat-Haula-Holtz/Toffoli then yeah that's definitely a slower line than what we were used to last year, but I could see that playing to the strengths of those players more anyway. I could also easily see Mercer, Meier, or Bratt spending a decent amount of time on the "3rd" line depending on how much they want to spread out the offense so while I definitely have some concerns about the speed element, I think it will work out ok.

Its gonna be a fun time when people are gonna be calling Nosek Novak all the time and someone thinks theyre talking about Tatar when they see Novak. Let alone when we end up playing Nashville with the actual Novak!
Can you imagine if Tatar signs with Nashville? The GDT will be a much bigger mess than usual.

Tatar really has a ton of skill. I thought he was going to fall off a cliff last year and he proved me wrong (not hard to do). I am so ready for some sort of hockey already. I want to discuss Bratt's mohawks per 60.

What do you think they are all working on? Does anyone have a good channel for off-season hockey drills with pros or college kids? Jonesing...

Wait.....what?

If Bratt has a mohawk now, I need a picture. It would make a great new Avy.

(of course, the "mohawks" you're referring to are not exactly what I think they are but still....)

Actually as someone mentioned it above, what’s happened re Miles Wood? Has he signed elsewhere or have we even made an official announcement that we aren’t bringing him back ?
You don't wanna know.......

Any 6 year deal for Miles Wood that isnt't only around a million per year is a BAD deal for everyone but Miles Wood.

I guess it's good for fans of opposing teams though.

I want the league to gather every goalie who is currently under contract who has played at least four NHL seasons and who has a save percentage below 905 and who has a stoppable goal percentage above 30%. Bring them all to a random conference room at the local Sheraton amd make them wear their full gear. You come into the conference room and give them an “inspirational” speech. I’d sell tickets. It would sell out.
