That rumored Markstrom price is cheap compared to what the goalie of people's dreams is going to cost.

I think I might have mentioned it before but I used to work at Record World in Garden State Mall and John Maclean came in one day... actually quite a few athletes came in while I worked there...He had 3 or 4 shopping bags and I asked him if he wanted me to hold them while he looked around and I told him what that I was fan and he chuckled and said that I was the first person who recognized him at the mall.

I spent a good amount of money in that Record World and that mall in general.

I spent a good amount of money in that Record World and that mall in general.

I was there a lot from 88 through 90. Mostly smoking cigarettes and drinking diet Coke in the food court

They've just traded Lindholm for not an overpayment. They're not going anywhere now or in the future. I agree that they will probably keep Markstrom. The problem they are making for themselves is if they somehow miracle their way into the playoffs, they will keep Markstrom, and if they fall out of the playoff race, it will probably be because Markstrom is struggling, and therefore they will keep Markstrom because he's lost his value.

...That's completely different. They got a respectable player back plus a 1st round pick. That's a re-tooling trade (and overpayment imo especially if Kuzmenko can bounce back). If they trade Markstrom, who's gunna play in goal? It'd completely tank their chances of the playoffs.

I think I saw one of the podcast sites, maybe Spittin Chiclets say there was a rumor Hanfin was going to be in that dead Markstrom deal

Every game Daws plays well and we look competent in net, the price for any goalie goes down.

Fitz can go to them and say, see we dont NEED you etc

I think a guy like Wennberg would really help this team out. But if they are actually going to acquire a goalie the cap might be tough.

The simplified d-zone game is working wonders for our goalies. Vitek still can't freeze a puck, but Daws has bounced back pretty well.

In 1989 I was wearing those silly Miami Vice jackets and white pants. It went great with my Lanny McDonald stache and my mullet. Some where there is a picture of me at a party decked out that way. My kids were horrified

I used to have a bottle of skunk scent in my jeep too. One winter I loaed up cotton balls with skunk scent and stuck the cotton balls in my best friends vents in his car so every time he turn his heater on the scent would fill his car.

Reading the main board and some Flames beat writers and it really sounds like Markstrom was extremely close to being a Devil.

Two theories on what went wrong is ownership wouldn't approve the salary retention, or their GM agreed to a deal, then played that offer off other teams then asked Fitz for more and Fitz said f*** off basically.
