The model overrates players getting cake minutes and doing well in them and doesn’t seem to know how to rate a guy getting very difficult assignments and doing okay in them.

I’m sure this model would have Butcher-Lovejoy as some force when they were together his rookie year.

As the model should have reflected for Lovejoy.

Any model that says Fabian Zetterlund's market value is 7 million should be immediately dismissed.

You really shouldn't be taking these models seriously like at all. They mean absolutely nothing and are essentially just made up.

They take one aspect of a players performance and put a "value" and a contract number on it. It's nonsense.

You don't need to care about the player cards, or the fancy stats....but some people here like seeing that stuff. Its just more information to digest...which IMO is never a bad thing.

And you're actually a fan of Connor Carrick and think I trash Devils players way too much?

Come on now. He's really not terrible, other than terrible at scoring goals anymore.

I'm frustrated with him too, but he's not a bad player. He just looks like he's hit that wall that early 30's players hit where they can't really score anymore and their shooting percentage comes crashing down.

Worst case is we just say arrivederci after this year. I haven't closed the door on re-signing him, but certainly not a raise from what he's making.

I believe you said he was great in his role with the Devils, when I trashed in a preseason GDT this year and you asked me if there was ever a Devils player or at least non-superstar Devils player I ever liked.

Somewhat childlike but I simply enjoy seeing the graphs, charts, and cool ways they manage to represent these numbers. Plus seeing your own guys with stud-like charts is always fun for the fans.

Its why I thought I wanted to do math in college until I actually took some higher level math. That changed real quick lol

And it was a trade that had to be made. But to say a guy that is on a line with Hughes and HAS 1 GOAL deserves to play their is ridiculous.

He was great in his role. He was a plug third line stay at home defenseman. Not a good player just a good plug.

This is a very good team, good enough from my observations that I might actually start getting labeled an “optimist”.
