Boston and Dallas are my only concerns in this stretch.

Panthers Canes and Rags are barely in plus goal territory. Need to collect as many points possible against these three. Then there’s the Flyers, would be nice to play them well for once this season.

I guess I’m still moreso concerned about the devils plummeting At any point here. given how it’s been the past number of years, that will continue To stick with me in the back of my head.

Maybe they should have banned the whole 70’s Flyer teams. Didn’t Miles Wood get rocked last night. Such bullshit to just blame Stevens like he concussed the whole league.
It's just lazy "journalism". His hits are easy to single out because they've been replayed a million times and talked about as nauseam by the same media members who out of the other side of their mouth constantly talked about "toughness" and "grit" and hockey being a "mans game" during that era.

And honestly, if the article was more balanced and talked about all the other things about Stevens that made him an all time great and HOFer, I'd be fine with discussing those hits and how the NHL has changed in terms of awareness and prevention of head trauma. I think that's a very valid discussion to have. But the few times the author speaks well of him is the equivalent of saying "no offense, but..." and then proceeding to do nothing but say offensive things about that person.

I wonder how long it will be until we have an update on Nate? Hope him and Wood are OK and will be back soon.

I assume no news means they haven’t made a decision on surgery yet. If there isn’t a specific news to give then people have to live with that for a bit.

I thought the team deserved to be dragged for being weird about Nico’s leg injury, which they basically hid from fans, but they have been fine this season in terms of injury info.

People shouldn’t expect him to come back any time soon.

Since Toronto they

Won 3 of the next 4

Then won 2 of the next 3

Then won 2 of the next 3

Still great results. This is a long season and they are still doing good. Other teams have definitely been stepping up. Last night could have easily been 2-0 in the 1st, we hit two pipe’s after Nico goal then Vitek gave up some iffy goals.

He had an xGF% of 38.66%, only John Hayden was worse.

I don't particularly care where he should have been playing, but the NHL was clearly the wrong answer.
Are you talking about 2019-20 with Boqvist? Everyone knew they kept him on the NHL roster a couple a months so he wouldn’t go back to Sweden. That’s why they waited until Jan 19th to send him down the first time.

For Jesper, the circumstances are trickier. He has a contract for the 2019-20 season with Brynas IF, the Swedish Hockey League team in Gavle, a short drive from his hometown. There’s an out clause for him to join the Devils and play in the NHL, but he’ll return home if he doesn’t make the opening-night roster or the organization decides he’s not ready for a full season after he plays some early games.

We thought he was close in early/mid nov as he was skating with the team, then Ryan had a report come out he suffered a setback. I don't think he's been on the ice with the team since

I can’t wait until this team has a losing streak, I’m sure the board will respond well.

This team could spend part of the season falling over with their pants around their ankles and still make the playoffs easily. People don’t seem to understand the magnitude of points they banked. I’m typically a very far from an optimistic fan and I haven’t been this happily chill in over a decade.

And if we can’t handle injuries to Wood and Bastian, sorry, then we’re a bad team. Other teams have been dealing with way worse.

I also don’t see us as some juggernaut Team of Destiny because of our record, we did have lighter schedule and I don’t take pre-All-Star Game NHL hockey completely seriously. So I expect to lose more games.

But we’re clearly very very good, in a way we have not been remotely been before in forever. We’re 4th in GF/GP and 2nd in GA/GP (even after last night) for f***’s sake. That doesn’t mean we get to clown every other team, some people’s expectations for this team’s performances seem very unrealistic. We were due to get lit up.

I dunno, why make yourself unhappy about “concerns” in imagined slippages? This team will have losing streaks, either you’re either emotionally prepared to handle it or not. The winning streak was pretty emotional I don’t expect, or even want, this team going pedal to the metal in every game. How is that even sustainable?

But this team is different:

He wasn't very good, but neither was the rest of the team, and he was almost always playing with the dregs. And obviously he couldn't go to the AHL until January 1. In an ideal world, he's spending most or all of 19-20 in the AHL, but I still think that's better than Brynas.

Time to hook her up with some wine again, she deserves it. Are we springing for Bare Foot this time? 🍷

As in wine in a box vs. bottle.. not box= case of bottled wine

Panthers would scare me, they're not getting goaltending this year and hovering around the bubble. They're bound to regress positively there at some point. Rangers will always be tough with Shesty in net. Canes look a bit iffy though. But this all won't matter if the Devils no show for 15-20 mins a game like they've been doing recently.

Holtz does not stand out 5v5 much. He also isn't playing alot so he is going to develop slower playing with lesser linemates. I'm pretty sure Hughes or Bratt are the only players to really get his game going if he were to play innthe top 6.
That H2O line needs to be reassembled when Palat is back. Then you can have Haula muck it up with Rango and Zett, while Boqvist hangs in the press box.

Gonna be visiting family in Raleigh when the Devils are down there on the 20th. Will be nice to check out another road arena not in the tri state area. Got to see Florida , Tampa , Anaheim and LA in the last year. Didn't get to catch the Devils any of those games since I wanted to go to vacation type areas of the country. We usually have a good turn out of fans down there in North Carolina , maybe some of you might be there as well that night !

I’ll be in Florida the next night. I’m already grouchy and channeling my Devils Dominion about how we trip those games like a vacation and not a business trip lol.
